While fans are trying to figure out the identity of the "Becky with the good hair" Beyonce mentioned on "Sorry," Iggy believes the lyric is offensive.

In an exchange on Twitter, she demanded that they never refer to her as "Becky." Later, Iggy clarified that her remarks aren't "Bey shade", but instead, explained that Beyonce's "Becky" reference would be similar to her referring to black men as "Deshawns."
 "It was used as a play on brain and brian. you would not be down if i started calling all black men 'deshawns' ...and by the way, this is not bey shade. i love her and the album. but my name is iggy, and you will all call me that," Iggy wrote in response to two followers.
"Do you know how many time ppl have called me BECKY? it didnt have any kind of positive intention behind it. dont start... generalizing ANY race by calling them one sterotypical name for said race. i personally dont think is very cool, the end," Iggy later added.
