Miguel & Lloyd Have Confrontation Regarding Beef Over Similar Hairstyles

Miguel and LloydThe beef between singers, Miguel and Lloyd, has finally come to an end, after  they met face-to-face this weekend, backstage Z107.9's Summer Jam in Cleveland ... following days of controversy over their similar hairstyles.
Everything started last week, when Miguel reacted after seeing Lloyd's new haircut, sending him a shot through Twitter (@MigMoney): "Imitation is the Highest form of Flattery. Shout to LLoyd."
After hearing about it, Lloyd wasn't happy ... and the pair ran into each other over the weekend, which ultimately ended with Miguel apologizing, but only after Lloyd told him he felt disrespected.
Audio of the conversation hit the net, which starts with Miguel bursting into the dressing room singing "The Wayans Bros." theme song ("We're brothers, we're happy and we're singing and we're colored").
But, Lloyd wasn't having it and immediately asked Miguel why he sent out his controversial tweet.
"Why would you even say that though?" he asked.
An apologetic Miguel replied, "Yo, it shouldn't have been said, as honest as I may have been. If it was like me and you having a conversation and I said it to you, it would have been different. The fact that I said it on Twitter was f***ed up and I apologize for that."
Lloyd then explained why he was so upset over the situation, saying he doesn't like to be called a copycat.
"The fact is that I was not trying to imitate you," he said. "I just felt like it was disrespectful. On some real sh**, it was cheap and I felt like it was distasteful. The idea behind it wasn't to mock you or imitate you, it was just to shave my [hair], so I could get a tattoo. For you to say that and bring all that kind of energy to me... It's album release week, so why am I answering questions about Miguel when I should be talking about my album that I worked two years for?"
Eventually, it seems as though, they worked out their differences ... and there should be no more blog topics over their similar hairstyles.
Because, for one, Lloyd says he's growing his hair back.

R. Kelly in Foreclosure

Uncle Chester needs a new crib. Is Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/producer R. Kelly having some funny money issues?
Well, that depends on who you ask.

Kelly has failed to make mortgage payments on his multimillion-dollar suburban Chicago home and now may lose the property to lenders, court documents show. In a foreclosure action filed in Cook County Circuit Court last month, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank N.A. claims that the singer had not made a monthly payment on his 11,000-square-foot home in Olympia Fields since June 2010. The current principal balance on the loan was more than $2.9 million, not including unpaid interest, which accrues at rate of $251 a day. The “Love Letter” singer stopped making payments on the mortgage in an attempt to force the bank to negotiate a modification of the loan, according to sources. Kelly hasn’t lived in the home for more than a year and currently resides in his hometown of Chicago.
The two-story house, constructed 11 years ago by Kelly, sits behind a gate on a 3.7-acre site. It features six full bathrooms, seven half-baths and a four-car garage, according to the Cook County Assessor’s website. The original loan issued in 1999 was for $3.5 million, according to the lawsuit, and the monthly payments were $24,345.12. The property has a number of liens on it, according to the lawsuit, including nearly $2 million from the Department of the Treasury.
Allan Mayer, spokesperson for the R&B Man, declined to comment about the foreclosure. He tells The Associated Press, however, that Kelly isn’t in financial trouble.

According to Uncle Luke, dating a fellow rapper’s ex is “breaking the code”!

Rapper Wiz Khalifa was called out in a recent posting by Luke Campbell (of 2 Live Crew fame) saying that he “broke the code” by dating the ex of another rapper. In this case, the ex is Amber Rose, who used to date Kanye West. Campbell also called out artist Soulja Boy, with the same charge.
“You don’t date another rapper’s ex-girlfriend.”, Campbell wrote in his post. “They broke the bro code. See, when a rapper makes a commitment to one girl, he takes the relationship seriously.”
Campbell does make an interesting point, later in the post, that people may assume that all rappers enjoy being with multiple women. He makes the assertion that there are plenty of hip-hop artists who, indeed, enjoy life with just one woman by their side. He notes rappers such as Jay-Z, Will Smith, Ice Cube and Ice-T as examples of men with solid, committed relationships.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t know that such a code existed. Then again, I’m not a popular hip-hop star. It is both fascinating and fantastic that in a world, such as hip-hop, men can break the stereotype of what people think hip hop guys are like. It’s awesome that men, especially men like Campbell, are able to make the general public, and casual rap fans, aware of this code. Maybe now people can take a different light to the men who populate this culture.

Nicki Minaj Punched in the Mouth at a Hotel!

WTF?!? Nicki Minaj was reportedly “struck” in the lower lip by a man after the pair got into a heated argument at a ritzy hotel in Dallas last night!

Law enforcement sources tell  that Minaj got into a “verbal spat” with an “unidentified man she was staying with” while they were poolside at the Palomar Hotel.
Nicki told a hotel worker to call the police and when cops and paramedics arrived to the scene, Nicki told officials that after the fight, she and her crew returned to the room, which is where “the man” hit her in her lower lip.
The man in question had already left the scene once police arrived, and Nicki insisted that she did NOT want to press charges.
She also stressed that she was NOT in a relationship with the alleged attacker.

Natalie Nunn
“Bad Girls Club” alum Natalie Nunn collapsed this morning… and not because (insert random rapper’s name here) was on top of her.
The 25-year-old reality tv “star” was rushed to the E.R. after collapsing in her Hollyweird Hills condo Tuesday. Nunn was treated for “exhaustion” and released this afternoon.
“I wasn’t kidding when I said I would sleep when I die. I have literally been running on three hours of sleep every day for the past two years,” Nunn told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.
“It caught up to me. I’ll rest for a little while and get right back out there.”
Sources close to the reality-television star say Nunn will be taking a week off to relax, watch movies and catch up on sleep.
“I’m going to get rest. No one said it was easy being America’s favorite bad girl,” Nunn said.
Nunn, who has been previously linked to Rihanna’s cousin Tee-Jay, was scheduled to host a party tonight in Minnesota and Lil Kim’s birthday bash Wednesday night in Miami.
Nunn has been forced to reschedule all of her upcoming events until sometime after July 22.

Black Eyed Peas Split...Focusing on Solo Careers

Black Eyed Peas Split...Focusing on Solo Careers
The Black Eyed Peas are going on an indefinite break from making music together.
The group broke the news from the stage during a gig at Alton Towers in Staffordshire earlier this week - scroll down and click below for footage of the announcement.
Fergie broke the news last week in England, when she told the crowd at Thursday’s Staffordshire show it was "a very special night." Why ?
Because it’s the "last time we’re going to be in England for a long time," she said. The Black Eyed Peas have a history of sabbaticals - their last one was from 2005-2009, and Fergie reassured fans that the band isn’t breaking up, just taking a indefinite break. "This isn’t going to be the last time you’ll see us," she said.
Confirmed will.i.am on Twitter :
The @Bep will take a break after the beginning...just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d...but it doesn’t mean we stop creating.
Fergie opens up on those persistent pregnancy rumors
Sadly, while they’re not breaking up, they are taking a break—and an indefinite one at that. But before you go writing up the Peas’ obituary, bear in mind, they’ve done this before—and came back, four years later, stronger than ever.

Lil Wayne says 'Tha Carter IV' is 'totally done,' out August

No, really, fans: despite the sliding and constantly moving release date, Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" has a firm release date. The rap star told MTV that the set is "totally done." The much-anticipated album is now due Aug. 29.
And Weezy's well-aware that the shifting drop date has kept his followers on edge. Which is probably why he's also plotting to release a new mixtape, "Sorry for the Wait" tomorrow (July 13), one of many mixtapes he's crafted for fans.
A preview track -- his take on Meek Mill's "Tupac Back" in "Tunechi's Back" -- has been sent into the ether. "Wish I could take a shot a Ciroc with 'Pac / Sorry for the wait, 'til my album drop," he rhymes.

DMX To Remained Jailed After Getting Busted With Drugs

DMX was scheduled to be released from prison this week, after serving out half of a one-year sentence for a prior probation violation, but it seems he f'd that up. The rapper (real name: Earl Simmons) has earned himself an extended stay after incurring several infractions.
Prison officials told  that X broke several rules while incarcerated since January -- including drug possession, failing or refusing a drug test, smoking when he wasn't supposed to, being disrespectful, disruptive, and disorderly ... and more.
X has had a long history with drug abuse, his drug of choice being crack cocaine. However, officials didn't specify what kind of drug was found on the rapper.
He has had seven disciplinary infractions in total, and will remain behind bars for at least a week or possibly even longer.
Stay tuned...
DMX was planning the release of a new album this summer, revealing that he was considering a deal with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group; and also a reality TV series with with fiancé Yadira Borrego.
"Rick Ross' peoples wrote me a letter while I was in here," the rapper told Vibe.com in June. "Yeah like, 'Yo we got a home for you. We'll pick you up in a limo. Just come to Miami. Just come, we got you.'
"I'm thinking about it," X continued. "It was a good feeling. I respect him as an artist, and I would like to work with him. But he got the whole Illuminati thing going on. I got fans who write me like, 'I'm glad you're not a part of that.' And I don't know what it's really about entirely. So it might be like a good thing."

Red Bull's Emsee Freestyle Competition Heads To Seattle

After a successful stop in Los Angeles in early June, Red Bull is taking their Emsee competition to Seattle later this month for the second stop for the invite-only battle series.
Red Bull EmSee is an invitation-only battle series, created to find the best freestyle rappers in the country. After local talent battles it out in local markets, the winner of each city will head to Atlanta this fall for a national finals before a winner is crowned.
The series is hosted by Bun B, serving as the master of ceremonies; with judges at Seattle's stop on July 28 being Too $hort, Casual and Crooked I.
Red Bull EmSee's innovative battle format challenges MCs to bring the true freestyle spirit back, by adding a twist to the conventional head-to-head clash. During the competition, MCs are posed with a variety of challenges, designed to showcase their technique, creativity and dexterity. In addition to spitting flows over beats and a capella, MCs are challenged to come up with hard-hitting verses straight off the dome, based on visual cues and inspirations.
"The format of the challenge forces you to stick to the true essence of freestyling, which I think gives it freshness and definite authenticity," said reigning Red Bull EmSee National Champion, Fowl.
The Los Angeles stop in early June ended with Bay Area rapper, Dirtbag Dan, being declared the evening's winner after beating out Cadalack Ron in the final round.
The national winner will win an opportunity to record with a headlining producer of his choice. For information, visit RedBullUSA.com/Emsee.
The Seattle stop goes down on July 28 at The Crocodile. Pre-sale tickets are on sale for $8 at TheCrocodile.com, or $10 at door if not already sold out.

Freeway Rick Ross: Righting His Wrongs

There's always time to right your wrongs, and Freeway Ricky Ross is on a mission to make sure his rights outnumber his past wrongs.
Known as the King of Crack in South Central L.A. back in the 1980s, Ross is said to have made $3 million in one day. The drug kingpin was living a life similar to that of Tony Montana from the iconic "Scarface". But 20 years after his incarceration, he's turned a new leaf and is ready to rebuild his empire -- this time legally and inspirational.
His nickname was derived from his drug routes along several  properties on the Harbor Freeway. At his peak, Freeway Rick Ross was the richest man in the hood, who not only profited off illegal sales, but also benefited a very troubled community. While it's not the most moral Robin Hood story (stealing from the rich to give to the poor), Ross is often credited for helping out his community with his "profits."

Consequence Takes Aim At Kanye West In Newly Leaked Track, 'On My Own'

Former G.O.O.D. Music signee, Consequence, is taking aim at his former labelmates in a new song that leaked this week, called "On My Own." On the new song, featuring a hook from Kid Cudi and production from Kanye West, the New York rapper seems to be taking aim at his former boss over a beat he produced, calling him out for not supporting his music.
It doesn't matter though, "cause when it comes to rap, I do this on my own," Cons declares to close out each verse.
However in the song's verses is where it becomes evident, there was a problem.
"Let's be honest, we don't need a lie detector / Don't try to make it seem that you was once my investor / You never believed, so you don't need to lie to Dexter," Cons spits in the first verse, before later adding, "The same homeys that I thought were my support system/ Got the nerve to jerk me like the court system."
Cudi crooning on the hook, further drives Cons' complaint home, as he sings, "I could do it on my own, I don't have to listen to your lies, forever/ I've been movin' on my own for some time now, so I gotta say goodbye, forever."
Consequence began his career working with legendary hip-hop group, A Tribe Called Quest, but later pursued his own solo career, teaming up with Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music, dropping his debut Don't Quit Your Day Job! in 2007.
While things seemed ok, tn the middle of recording his sophomore album, Cons TV, the rapper left G.O.O.D. Music after a fallout with Kanye, who he felt didn't support his music fully and/or didn't credit for his contribution to Ye's music.
On My Own (Full Version) by Consequence
He tells Billboard.com, he's learned from his past mistakes.
"It won't happen again. It's like when you're in somebody else's totem pole, so to speak, of course, the head is to receive the glory," Consequence says.
In an interview with Billboard.com, Cons expressed his frustrations over failing to receive his share of credit for Kanye's success.
"I'm one of the premiere songwriters in music over the last decade and it hasn't fully been exploited out of loyalty and out of business structure," he lamented. "I wrote a plethora of records that people are familiar with... I wrote the verses to 'Paranoid' with Kanye. It's a lot of people's favorite record from '808s and Heartbreak.'"
Apparently, he also contributed to Ye's songs, "Amazing," "Say You Will," and "Robocop" from his 808s and Heartbreaks; "Gone" from Late Registration; and "Spaceship" from The College Dropout.
"On My Own" will appear on Consequences's next mixtape, Movies on Demand 3, set to drop very soon.

Katy Perry Postpones Tour Dates Due To Illness

Another day, another sick pop star cancels summer tour dates. Just two days after Taylor Swift announced to fans that she would have to postpone dates on her Speak Now Tour because of bronchitis, Katy Perry said on Friday (July 8) that she will have to postpone two dates on her California Dreams trek after suffering from "an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration."
Concert promoters Jam Productions, Perry has rescheduled her July 8 show at Chicago's Allstate Arena for August 21, and her July 9 gig at St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center for August 23 in the same venues.
And once recovered, Perry said she plans to make it up to her fans. "I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!" she said.
Perry also took to Twitter to deliver the unfortunate news, tweeting, "Chicago and St. Paul - I'm so sorry to have to postpone today and tomorrow's shows. But I'll be back 8/21 (CHI) and 8/23 (St. Paul)!"
Despite the tour-date postponement, the pop singer has been riding high off of her mega-successful Teenage Dream album, which is closing in on Michael Jackson's #1 singles record. If the LP's recently released "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" hits the top of the Billboard Hot 100, she'll become the first female artist to have five chart-topping songs off one album. Additionally, Perry will become the first artist to nab the record since Jackson, who had five #1 singles off his Bad album in the late-'80s.
Send your well-wishes for a speedy recovery to Katy in the comments!

Get Your Life Together Already!!! Pacman Jones Popped For Fighting One-Time While Slizzard

Pacman Jones Arrested Again
This fool here!!
After finding a way to mostly avoid headlines for the past few months, Pacman Jones was in Cincinnati last night doing what he does best: f*cking up.
The folks at WLWT report that Jones, who now plays for the Bengals, was arrested early Sunday at a Cincinnati bar.
He reportedly was intoxicated and disruptive. He allegedly got into an argument, and he allegedly was uncooperative when asked to leave.
As Jones was being arrested, he reportedly struggled to get out of the handcuffs. Ultimately, two officers were required to restrain him.
With the league taking the position (ridiculous as it may be) that the personal conduct policy applies even though the players are currently locked out, it’ll be interesting to see how Pacman’s latest legal entanglement impact his career, given his history.

Waka Flocka Flame Fed Up With The Industry, Says He's Retiring After This Year

Georgia rapper, Waka Flocka Flame, shot to fame in 2009 with the breakthrough single, "O Let's Do It". And, in just a short time, has become one of the most popular hip-hop artists in the game, not to mention "real."
With all of the success, he's become a hot commodity, but is the saying goes, the industry is full of snakes, and that's something he's realized. It's always why can't deal with anymore.
So, Waka says he plans to hang up his mic after the end of 2011.
In a tweet on Wednesday (July 6), the rapper announced his exit from the game, writing (@WakaFlockaBSM), "This game 2 fake I quite rap after this year."
The Twitter update shocked fans, all of which were left wondering why. So, Waka called into the Ryan Cameron Show on Atlanta's V103 radio station this week to confirm what he wrote on the social networking site, and explain.
"Yep, absolutely true," the rapper said on the air. "The game, as a whole, is fake. I'm tired of going what I go through, and at the end of the day, the forecast is always rain ... rain on my world.
"It's so much different haters, different fake smiles, different hugs. So to prevent myself from doing anything, I just rather quit," Waka continued. "I'd rather work at Wal-Mart than rap. I promise, and that's my word on God."
By the end of the year, Waka hopes to make enough money to financially secure his family and friends, and then, he's calling it a wrap. Either way, though, he says he's gone.
"I'm straight, regardless. I don't have any kids," Waka responded, when asked if he was aiming for a certain amount of money before going on haitus. "I'm always gonna be straight. I'm content with $200 in my pocket, rather than $20,000 in my pocket. I'm still gonna be the same person, wake up the same way. I could never be embarassed."
Despite being fed up with industry politics, Waka didn't completely rule out a return. While he makes it clear that it won't be until he goes on an extended vacation, coming back is probably certain, especially since he's just 25.
"I been wanting to quit. My moms is probably the only reason why I kept rapping," he explained. "Right now, I be so stressed over fake stuff. I'm struggling at 25 years old, how can I be stressed? So, I just wanna hang it up. I can't say its a forever thing, but I know I'mma take a good six to 12 months. I know I'mma take off for a good year, I know it."
For now, as far as music goes, Waka has an upcoming collaborative album with his mentor Gucci Mane; and his forthcoming sophomore LP, # Triple F Life: Friends, Fans, & Family; and most likely, a mixtape or two.
Hopefully, it's enough to hold fans over until he decides to return.

Rockets' Yao Ming To Retirement After Nine Years In The NBA

After nine seasons, 7'6" Chinese NBA star Yao Ming has decided to call it quits, following several injury-riddled years, reports Yahoo! Sports.
Yao's contract had expired with the Houston Rockets after last season, where he played just five games after missing the entire 2009-2010 season. The team had missed the playoffs the last two seasons as well, while their star center sat on the bench recovering from injury.
During the most recent season, Yao suffered a stress fracture in his left ankle, and many doubted whether he could return ... and it seems it won't happen.
He underwent surgery in January, then months later, Yao said his surgically repaired left ankle was healing properly. However, he said he wouldn't know until this summer if he'd be able to play again.
At press time, Yao and/or the Rockets have yet to make an official statement.
Yao's injuries have kept him from reaching his full potential. Some -- including his teammates -- felt he could've progressed into one of the greatest centers in the league's history.
"If he was never injured, he would have been one of the greatest centers ever," former Rocket's teammate Rafer Alston told Yahoo!. "You can't guard him. You had to foul him. He's 7-6, so he has a height advantage. He had the jump hook over the shoulder.
"If he was healthy, we would have gone far. He would have been one of the greatest centers of all-time if he was healthy."
During his seven-plus seasons, Yao averaged 19 points and 9.2 rebounds a game.
With Yao's departure, the NBA loses one of its few remaining center stars, following Shaquille O'Neal's retirement announcement in early June.
Shaq congratulated the Chinese pro in an online video post.
"We're going to miss you, bro," O'Neal said. "You're one of the greatest players ever to come out of China. You're one of the greatest players, period. I'm going to miss you, brother. Enjoy retirement. Let's go on vacation, bro. Me and you."

R&B singer Lloyd is the latest to get some serious ink, taking a page outta Birdman's book and getting his head tatted.
In support of his new album King of Hearts, the singer debuted his new head tattoo and hairstyle during his appearance on BET's "106 & Park" on Tuesday (July 5), which is an image of two revolvers wrapped in roses.
"I'm a walking contrast. I go from hard to soft, I go from guns to roses, which is what's on my tat. And I like to go from the streets to the sheets," Lloyd told host Terrence J. "I make street-savvy R&B music, but I also like to slow it down and be sensual at times, so when you listen to King of Hearts, you get a lot of the contrast of who is me."
According to the singer, the tat reminded him of his late grandfather.
