Uncle Luke's Daughter Exposes Him As Woman Beater and Bad Father

As Uncle Luke faced scrutiny and court appearances for the lewd language and alleged nature of his group, 2 Live Crew, his problems at home are becoming something that require more attention.
The daughter of Luke, legally Luther Campbell, who was featured on his reality show Luke's Parental Advisory, is looking to get her own 15 minutes of fame and using her dad as the catalyst with allegations that he used to brutally beat her mother.
Along with abuse, she is also stating that her father only claims 1 of his 5 children and wants his son Luther to be placed in a homeless shelter.
“He use to beat her.  Beat her down till she couldn't even move and walk.  At the age of 3, he kicked me and my mom out of the house.  What kind of father is that?”
Is it just me or does this feel a little too scripted to be believable?
Reality television is slowly but surely becoming a deterrent in the mental growth of the Black population as its only purpose serves as a means to further bring down Black people and create a false image of utter ignorance.

Kansas City's Entertainment District Lifts Ban on Baggy Pants Amidst Controversy

Kansas City's Power & Light entertainment district has decided to relax it dress code after being criticized that the strict rules “discriminated” against young African American men.
According to the Kansas City Star, the new dress code has removed restrictions against baggy clothing, undershirts, sweatshirts and athletic attire. The only prohibitions are for clothing that contains profanity, sleeveless shirts on men, sweatpants and full sweat suits.
"It's been significantly modified...for the better," Mickey Dean, civil rights manager for the city's human relations department, told The Kansas City Star. "Now we don't have to deal with this subjectivity about what's too baggy or what's too long."
The district had come under scrutiny claiming that the strict dress code discriminated against not only African American attendance to downtown events, but also stopped various events from being held.
The change, which comes in advance of some major African-American conventions downtown, still allows management to use their “discretion” regarding events, but has relaxed the standard.
"Management reserves the right to deny entry or remove any individual who does not comply with the code of conduct," the company says on its website. "Please note that the dress codes of individual venues may vary."
At least one lawsuit has been filed over the district's dress code. A Black family who says it was denied entry last summer into the Mosaic Lounge is suing the district in federal court.
Family members say they were kept out because of the way dressed, while whites wearing similar clothing were allowed entry.

50 Cent Sheds 50+ LBS For Upcoming Film Role

50 Cent is really taking his stint as a Hollywood actor seriously. He's so adamant at fitting each role to a "T" that he's lost a significant amount of weight for an upcoming film role.
In these photos, posted at ThisIs50.com, you can see Fif' has slimmed down ... A LOT!
The rapper/actor reportedly lost around 50+ pounds for his role in the upcoming "Things Fall Apart," where he plays a football player diagnosed with cancer.
According to ThisIs50.com, 50 Cent dropped from 214 pounds to a shocking 160 for the role, thanks to a liquid diet and three-hour-day treadmill walk over the span of nine weeks.
"I was starving," he said of the grueling diet. But, now that he's back on tour, he says he's putting the weight back on quickly.
"I've been eating. I'll be back in shape in no time!"
"Things Fall Apart" will be released through 50's own, Cheetah Vision Films, a company he runs with partner Randall Emmett.
50 will play the starring role, and also co-wrote the script with Brian Miller. Mario Van Peebles will direct.
At press time, it was unknown how far along the film was in production and/or its release date.

This Guy Is The Reason Jamaica Has Declared A State Of Emergency

"The US attempt to extradite Christopher "Dudus" Coke has literally shut Jamaica down"
Films like Belly and Shottas and even Drake’s recent video “Find Your Love” have delivered images of Jamaica as a violent and dangerous place, but right now the country is in very REAL danger — so much so that the Prime Minister declared a state of emergency — all because the U.S. is trying to extradite the man pictured above, Christopher “Dudus” Coke. Pop the hood for details
Last week police in Jamaica began making preparations to arrest Coke so he could be extradited to the U.S. where he’s charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and marijuana and conspiracy to illegally traffic in firearms. The problem is, Coke and his supporters will not be taken in without a fight.
Coke, who also goes by other nicknames like ‘Shortman’, ‘Presi’ and ‘Bossy’ in addition to ‘Dudus,’ is a successful businessman who police sources say also manages a network of criminal associates across the island, the Caribbean, North America and the United Kingdom. Additionally, he’s a known benefactor to many people who depend on him to send their children to school, buy food and settle disputes beyond Jamaican borders. So that may explain why so many in Jamaica have been willing to put their own lives on the line to protect him from extradition.
Residents of Denham Town and Tivoli Gardens loyal to Dudus set up blockades to prevent police from entering their communities. Police who’ve tried to clear the debris came under gunfire and the stations that serve those and neighboring areas have also come under gunfire. It has been reported that several people have been shot, including a police officer whose wounds were fatal. The situation has escalated so far that the country’s Prime Minister issued a State of Emergency Sunday for St. Andrew and Kingston parishes:
Prime Minister Bruce Golding has condemned the “calculated assault on the authority of the state” and vowed that the security forces will use deadly force in a limited state of public emergency to counter thugs who have wreaked havoc on the capital.
“Let us make no mistake. The threats that have emerged to the safety and security of our people will be repelled with strong and decisive action.
“… This will be a turning point for us as a nation to confront the powers of evil that have penalised the society and earned us the unenviable label as one of the murder capitals of the world. We must confront this criminal element with determination and unqualified resolve.”
The prime minister sought to assure Jamaicans that the city was “not being shut down” and that there should be business as usual after today’s Labour Day holiday. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, Golding said.
The state of emergency will remain in place for one month and may be adjusted by Parliament.
Earlier, the Jamaica Constabulary Force appealed for Coke to turn himself in. They also asked women and children to leave the community.
The police condemned the actions of gunmen who barricaded a number of roads into the communities, describing it as as “an act of cowardice on the part of selfish criminal elements, mainly Mr Christopher Coke”.
The police said that by barricading the community, “criminal elements are putting the safety and well-being of citizens, including women, children and the elderly, at grave risk”.
Bossip readers in Jamaica have also written in, telling us that the gunfire in Kingston is constant and confirming civil unrest in Kingston. Here’s an exclusive account from a BOSSIP reader in Jamaica who says the unrest is also due to government corruption:
Jamaicans are completely against Dudus…the only ones that are pro Dudus are the ones directly benefitting from the empire he has built from his drug and gun trafficking, which includes an incredibly large number of gang members and their families and unfortunately poor people in the areas of downtown Kingston that look to Dudus for financial help…
We can hear everything that is going on because these thugs aren’t using simple weapons…they are using big guns which sounds like explosions when they fire…weapons they get from the US. Not only are Jamaicans against Dudus the whole government has become a big joke, and there have been calls for the Prime Minister Bruce Golding to resign amidst the confusion and for the role he played. Crime and government are one in the same in this country, corruption at it’s finest. the Prime Minister gets many votes from the area Dudus is ‘in charge’ of so he was actually secretly working to prevent Dudus’s extradition to secure his place in Parliament when this all broke and the public found out what it always suspected. The government then signed the extradition papers and all hell broke loose. All the criminals have banded together and unleashed an attack on society. They are saying ‘we run tings’ no one can dictate to us- especially not the United States. It is dangerous for everybody in Kingston because we don’t know what to expect… everyone is at risk.
SMH. This is crazy. We hope that no one else gets hurt.

D.C. Youth Say Free Condoms Are Too Small, Too Weak

Youth in the nation's capital are rallying against the free condoms distributed at high schools and colleges saying that they're too small and too weak for their liking.
The Washington Post reports that D.C. officials have been receiving complaints from students claiming that the Durex condoms offered for free are not up to par.
A study conducted by D.C. Council Member David Catania concluded that,
“Youth feel that Trojan condoms are of better quality and offer more protection. Youth also regard Magnums as the best extra strength and protection against (diseases) and ‘do not break' during sexual intercourse.”

To fix that problem, officials have decided to stock up on Trojan condoms including the company's Trojan Magnum brand.
Officials say however that gripes about Durex's safety are simply untrue considering that Consumer Reports magazine gave the brand the same “excellent” ratings as many of Trojan's similar brands.
The size issue however may have a leg to stand on.
Condom manufacturer Condomania concluded in a study that Washington D.C. men are the second most endowed in the U.S. behind New Orleans.
D.C.'s aggressive free condom campaign began in 2006 to battle its rising HIV/AIDS rate.
3 percent of the district's population has HIV and condoms are available for free in schools and online per request.
D.C. also recently started providing free female condoms at local barbershops, liquor stores and youth centers

For Discussion: Do Latinos Face Worse Discrimination Than Blacks?

"Discrimination Survey"
There’s a new survey out about who faces the most discrimination in America. Which group do you think it is? Pop the hood for survey results.
When it comes to discrimination, the poll suggests that Hispanics face a significant amount more than blacks or women. The complaint has gotten a lot more attention in the wake of  that shady Arizona Immigration Bill.
The Huffington Post has the story.
An Associated Press-Univision Poll found that 61 percent of people overall said Hispanics face significant discrimination, compared with 52 percent who said blacks do and 50 percent who said women.
The survey also underscored how perceptions of prejudice can vary by ethnicity. While 81 percent of Latinos said Hispanics confront a lot or some discrimination, a smaller but still substantial 59 percent of non-Hispanics said so.
It is not unusual for members of a group to feel they face more prejudice. In this survey, that was especially true when people were asked about “a lot” of discrimination. Fifty-five percent of Hispanics but only 24 percent of non-Hispanics said Hispanics encounter that.
The AP-Univision Poll compiled the views of 901 Hispanics, which were compared with the results of a separate AP-GfK survey of the general population. There also are partisan differences. Fifty-five percent of Hispanic Democrats and 38 percent of Hispanic Republicans say there is a lot of discrimination against Hispanics, and Hispanic Democrats are more likely than those in the GOP to say they have personally been affected.
Hispanics in the poll perceived discrimination against other groups a bit more often than non-Hispanics did.
Fifty-seven percent of Latinos and 50 percent of non-Hispanics said blacks are discriminated against. Fifty-eight percent of Hispanics and 48 percent of others said they had observed discrimination against women.
The AP-Univision Poll was conducted by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media from May 7-12. It involved landline and cell phone interviews with 901 Hispanic adults and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5.3 percentage points.
The findings were compared to a separate AP-GfK poll of 1,002 adults from the general population, also by GfK Roper. It involved cell and landline interviews conducted from May 7-11, and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.3 percentage points.

So, what do you think of this poll? Discuss.

Wyclef Jean Treats Haitian Amputees To Shopping Spree

Wyclef Jean made a positive move this weekend, treating three survivors of the Haiti earthquake to a shopping spree.
The three recipients selected by Clef and his Yele Haiti foundation are young ladies who lost limbs during the tragedy.
The organization worked alongside the Global Medical Relief Fund to fly the ladies and their families to New York where Wyclef took them to a local K-Mart for a shopping spree.
Speaking to the media about his plan to smiles on the amputees' faces, Clef said,
“When you come from a country where you make $1 a day, giving them $1,000 is like giving them $10,000…they need to know there are people like them and they're normal. Today they're not thinking, ‘I don't have a leg.' They're just being kids and they're happy."

The three recipients of the shopping spree were 17-year-old Margarette Pierre who lost her arm, 17-year-old Chantal Mori who lost her arm as well, and 8-year-old Sarah Maurice who lost her leg above the knee.
The ladies will be flown to Philadelphia in June where they'll receive free treatment for their prosthetic limbs.

Young Money's New York artist, Jae Millz, was reportedly arrested in New York on Tuesday (May 19) following some sort of dispute at his residence.

At press, the woman's identity was unknown.

My Guy Falls . . . Short!

Hello,
I have a question for you. I have a significant friend and we are dating and things are really good. He is thoughtful, sweet and considerate. We have alot in common and we are great together…outside of the bedroom. This guy really knows how to rev up my engine but, then falls short. When we have sex I can barely feel him and then he’s a two-minute brother. Also, he doesn’t know how to stroke or just make love period. Should I walk away from him because of this or should I try to make it work (It’s hard enough trying to find a good man in this day and age anyway)? Do you have any tips or advice on how to make our bedroom relationship blossom as well. Are there any tips for enhancement if the man is kind of short, goes limp fast and does not know how to make love? PLEASE HELP!!
PS: In case you’re wondering…I have tried to coach and guide him in a loving and sexual way but…it’s not working :(
Hey sis! First, thank you for writing in and sharing your story! This is the realest example of “you just cant’ have it all!” Here you have this nice guy you’re feeling, you have fun with him and he’s everything you could ever want in a partner . . . but . . . the sex is a dud. Ugh! So what do you do? Do you quit him because he’s not well endowed and not the best lover or do find a way to work through this? As hard as it is to find a compatible mate these days, you should at least try all you can to help the matter before you decide to bail!
Here’s the deal, any man who is good in bed has either been taught or did an insurmountable amount of research – either way, it’s trial and error for a while. From what you’ve described, you have the guy who needs to be taught and although you say you’ve tried, it all about the approach! You used the words “coaching”and “guiding” which, ultimately, sounds like a student-teacher kind vibe like you’re instructing him. And when you do that, you can expect a crushed ego and some resistance. This is how you’re going to have to do it: tell him what you like/want. Describe to him all the things you like done to you. You can start off with something like, “I love when a man does . . .” Men don’t like to be upstaged or compared and even though you’re not comparing, you’re mentioning the things you like that he hasn’t done and because of this, he’ll try it! Once he does, that’s when the “teaching” comes in but make sure you preface your preferences with positive. Example, “oh, baby. That feels so good, could you do that a little slower please?” Show him your “hotspots” and ask him to do the same things there. For maximum results, you have to be willing to do the same. Ask him what he likes/wants and deliver! Set the tone by taking your time and showing him that you want to please him also and that there’s no rush! Grind on him and kiss him slow and mention you like a slow bedroom tempo. With that kind of verbiage and example, he should be able to read between the lines and try to improve his endurance by whatever means are most comfortable to him. But you can’t go suggesting that he do kegel exercises to keep it up. It’s going to take time so if you decide to try and work it out, be committed to it and prepare yourself for good and not-so-good nights!
There’s nothing you can do about his manly dimensions and if he’s too short for you, you already know and it’s something you can either accept or reject. Please remember though, it’s not always about the size. Some men who are aren’t as well furnished are excellent lovers and know how to sexually please a woman with precision, despite his size! Your man could be one of those guys but has yet to learn how to work with his. This goes both ways, you can have a very well endowed man who can only last two minutes and not know how to stroke, he also needs some “coaching!” So let’s not harp on the size, right? Sex is a huge variable in a relationships and if he’s truly invested in what the two of you are building, he’ll do what it takes to improve his bedroom skills. Work with the man, sis! Work with him!

40 Glocc On Trial For Gang Injunction In San Bernardino, CA

Rapper 40 Glocc reportedly went on trial on Monday (May 17) in San Bernardino, California for allegedly promoting his gangbangin' lifestyle through his music and videos.
According to AllHipHop.com, the rapper (real name: Lawrence White) is at the center of a civil gang injunction filed by San Bernardino County D.A., against 40's alleged "gang", the Colton City Crips.
40 Glocc is one of 60 names listed in the documents, which was originally filed in 2008.
District Attorney Mark Vos and prosecutors allege that the rapper is a "senior member of the gang who has become a rap star," and hope to bar him from rapping about the gangbangin' lifestyle and/or making any mention of the Crips in his music, interviews, or anything else to do with his music career.
"I'm supposed to be getting judged by 12 of my peers in a jury right, so how are you trying to convict me of something and suppose to be taking me to trail, but the D.A. goes and personally requests a Trial by Judge and it gets granted," 40 asked in a previous interview with HipHopDX. "The Judge and the D.A. are working together to railroad me right there. If you're saying that I'm a Crip and I'm doing this and that to the people, than bring the people in and let them judge me. Let the people decide if I'm doing wrong, but they can't do that because they know they're lying. Even if I lose at least I'll be able to say I fought them motherf***ers so f*** ya!"
In addition to censoring his music, the D.A. wants to ban the Colton City Crips -- and 40 Glocc -- from Colton's Arbor Terrace Apartments, which is said to be their stronghold and named "The Zoo."
Ironically, just as he goes on trial, 40 Glocc has released a new single, titled "F*** The Police," seemingly addressing his current legal situation and sending a message to involved law enforcement.
"Copper what you looking for, the chopper's in a safe place you don't need to know / pitchin' with 50 Cent don't need to sell blow / talk to the lawyer, he'll tell you what you want," 40 Glocc raps on the new single, set to appear on his upcoming solo album, N.W.A., aka New World Agenda.
(Watch the music video for "F*** The Police" right here )
On the track, 40 goes on to name drop Colton police Cpl. Shawn McFarland and Colton police Sgt. Eric Miller, both of whom have spearheaded the investigation into the Colton City Crips' activities and furthermore, helped draft the gang injunction.

LimeWire Likely Caput, Court Ruling Could Spell Its End

After 10 years of operation, a federal judge likely put the nail in the coffin of one of the most popular file-sharing systems available: LimeWire.
Last Wednesday (May 12), U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood ruled in favor of the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), in their copyright lawsuit against LimeWire dating back to 2006.
In her decision, Wood found Lime Group, parent of LimeWire software maker Lime Wire, and its founder Mark Gorton liable for copyright infringement, as well as unfair competition.
The key factor of her decision is that she found Gorton personally liable for infringement, observing in her ruling that "an individual, including a corporate officer, who has the ability to supervise infringing activity and has a financial interest in that activity, or who personally participates in that activity is personally liable for infringement," reports Reuters.
While its likely, most of LimeWire's users will move to another P2P to get free music, experts believe the ruling will strike fear in the hearts of other would-be P2P moguls, who have -- in the past -- hid behind corporate shells, insulating their own assets if the law ever caught up with them.
"The court has sent a clear signal to those who think they can devise and profit from a piracy scheme that will escape accountability," said RIAA chairman/CEO Mitch Bainwol, regarding the importance of Gorton's personal liability in the case.
According to Reuters' report, the evidence that LimeWire had "induced its users to commit copyright infringement was overwhelming." The judge accepted evidence presented by the labels that virtually all of the files "shared" through LimeWire (98.8%) were infringing, and even worse, LimeWire knew about it. One source even said that employees maintained a file labeled "Knowledge of Infringement."
Record labels are expected to seek an injunction against further infringement by LimeWire, and will also seek damages, which could reach into the tens of millions of dollars.
LimeWire still hopes it can come to an agreement to settle the P2P dispute through a business arrangement, CEO George Searle told Reuters.
Since 2007, the company has been trying to go legit. They launched a licensed MP3 download service called the LimeWire Store, which includes music through deals with Redeye Distribution, the Orchard and a handful of others.
These attempts even prompted Judge Wood to point out that LimeWire's efforts to go legit is proof that they're aware that their service is being used illegally.

Master P Joins L.A. Mayor Antonio Villarigosa, Others in ‘Green’ Effort To Plant One Million Trees

P. Miller, formerly known as Master P, is going green. And, as a part of his green lifestyle, he joined an initiative earlier this month, alongside the likes of L.A. Mayor Antonio Villarigosa, to plant one million trees in the city of Los Angeles.
The project's main goal, which was sponsored by Fiji Water, is to help reduce global warming.
P, who in recent years has switched his focus to philanthropy, addressed hundreds of volunteers and the media on their mission and purpose of planting trees on May 1st at El Camino High School, where everyone involved gathered to make a difference.
The music industry veteran even got a chance to name his first tree, alongside his team helper actress Daniella Monet, naming it "Hope".
With his involvement, Miller hopes other celebrities will join the movement to help bring awareness to this initiative.
The concept is based on the idea of more trees in an area can help create a canopy effect for the city, which in turn will help keep the city cooler by providing shade, reducing energy consumption and increasing water retention in the city.
P says the project's benefits will reap for generations, hundreds of years to come.

Diddy Says “I Am The Champion Of Hip Hop… Hands Down!!!”

"Diddy on XXL Magazine"
On the upcoming issue of XXL, Diddy graces the cover for the very first time. After making music and producing reality TV shows, he must have decided to take on comedy. We say this because for Diddy to say he’s the “HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION of HIP-HOP” has to be one of the funniest things we have ever heard!!!
Flip the Lid for a Laugh
“I am the champion of hip-hop… Hands down, undisputed, I’m the undisputed heavyweight champion of hip-hop. We are going to have to deal with those facts. There is nobody that can f*ck with me with what I do, which is getting busy. We are going across the board, as an entrepreneur, innovator, motivator. Who was there first? Who traveled to Europe first? The first. The first. The first. The first. I was the first.”
Diddy can’t be serious!!! Yes, he is a hell of a business man… we will give him that but the heavyweight champion?!?! GTFOH!!! Even if this was true, then why is he just now covering XXL??!? Oh, maybe they just got the memo about his status…

A $95,000 question: why are whites five times richer than blacks in the US?

- A huge wealth gap has opened up between black and white people in the US over the past quarter of a century – a difference sufficient to put two children through university – because of racial discrimination and economic policies that favour the affluent.
A typical white family is now five times richer than its African-American counterpart of the same class, according to a report released today by Brandeis University in Massachusetts.
White families typically have assets worth $100,000 (£69,000), up from $22,000 in the mid-1980s. African-American families’ assets stand at just $5,000, up from around $2,000.
A quarter of black families have no assets at all. The study monitored more than 2,000 families since 1984.

Talib Kweli Addresses Illuminati Rumors About Jay-Z And Kanye West

Brooklyn-bred emcee Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek recently spoke out about the conspiracy theories on the web surrounding Jay Z and many other celebrity ties to the “Illuminati”.
In his interview with VIBE Magazine, Kweli revealed that he read a lot of the literature surrounding conspiracy theories and the illuminati, but believes that it is not real.
“Honestly back in '95-'96, we read a lot of the conspiracy books, including books about the Illuminati,” Talib said. “It was a part of being young, I'm not saying that we believed the world was ending in the year 2000, but we really were looking at the symbolism of things and against a lot of things. It was a part of being young and foolish.”
Although Kweli feels that there is no such thing as the Illuminati, he states that even if it is true, the power comes from people believing.

“I don't hang with Jay-Z and Beyonce, so I don't know what they do,” Kweli continued.  "But if they do practice [the cult of the Illuminati], how does that affect you? People fail to realize that things like that only have power when you believe in it, it doesn't bother me because I know what they do doesn't affect my life nor my family.”
Before conspiracy theorist start a witch hunt against Talib Kweli, check the interview in detail below.

Mashonda To Swizzy: Fu*k You, Pay Me $344K

Swizz Beatz Mashonda Divorce
Poor Swizz Beatz. Mashonda is going hard now that the divorce is final and Lil Licia Keys is allegedly knocked up:
The ink’s not even dry on their divorce yet, but hip-hop producer — and soon-to-be Mr. Alicia Keys — Swizz Beatz and his ex-wife are heading back to court.
In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Mashonda Dean says the man who officially became her ex-husband two weeks ago already owes her $334,000 in missed payments. “I so much wanted both of us to get on with our lives and maintain our respect for one another, but he now shows that his priorities and sense of responsibility are screwed up,” R&B singer Dean said.
Dean’s lawyer, Bernard Clair, called the nonpayment “particularly troubling” because of reports that Beatz bought a seven-carat engagement ring for Keys earlier this year and that they’re moving into a $14.5 million duplex penthouse on Crosby Street. Beatz told The Post his ex’s allegations that he owes $325,000 in equitable distribution and $9,000 in alimony and child support are “inaccurate” and “overblown,” and said that he’s gone “above and beyond” to provide for her and their son, Kasseem Jr., 13.
He said he’d agreed to pay Dean more than the judge required and much more than his lawyer recommended — he even had to sign court papers acknowledging that he was going against his attorney’s advice.
“I gave over what the judge was recommending to give. I gave her $700,000 up front, because I thought $200,000 wasn’t enough for what she wanted to do. I still get spit in my face for it,” he said. He suggested that the subsequent payments had been ready to go when he discovered “she’d been selling all my stuff out of my house.”
Clair said the only items his client sold were some remote-controlled vehicles the producer had left behind after movers took out his belongings.”
The two sides are due back in court next month. The 31-year-old will reportedly tie the knot with the stunning “Empire State of Mind” singer Keys this summer.
It’s hard for us to believe that Swizzy is a deadbeat, poor Mashonda just might be a wee bit bitter, huh???

Florida Seniors Experience Increase In STDs

Sex experts said a new and growing sex trend is sweeping across Florida."The population over 60 is having a lot of sex," said West Palm Beach gynecologist and sexual health expert Dr. Maureen Whelihan.Whelihan said may of her patients maintain active sex lives well into their 80s - some are having sex in their 90s."Some of the barriers to sex when you're younger are: there's not enough time, there are kids in the house, there's no privacy, you're tired. When retirement occurs, besides traveling, what else is there to do but have great sex?" said Whelihan."Three to four times a week. I could, no problem at all," said Dick Wasil.Wasil, 79, met his girlfriend, Pauline Martin, 80, at a dance."I wasn't expecting to meet anyone. I've been a widow for 12 years," said Martin."She was (there) by herself, had nobody to talk to really and somebody to take her out," said Wasil."He asked me to go out to dinner and I said, 'fine,'" Martin added.Three years later, the pair spend nearly every day together."We like to go out to eat. We like to go places. We've been on many cruises together and we go to the gambling casino," said Wasil. When the topic of sex arose, Martin said the conversation was not uncomfortable."There's nothing wrong with it. It's just part of nature," said Martin.Wasil and Martin said they are both healthy and monogamous. However, many seniors are having unprotected sex and contracting a myriad of sexually transmitted diseases. Health officials said seniors are contracting herpes, gonorrhea, HIV and AIDS at alarming rates.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Floridians over the age of 40 have the fastest growing rate of chlamydia cases of the last ten years -- many of those new cases are seniors.Chlamydia is an infection that can cause discharge in infected men. In younger women, it can cause reproductive problems. It's the most frequently reported bacterial STD in the country. There are lots of reasons why so many older people are contracting it... and other sexually transmitted diseases.A major reason is that many seniors are not comfortable discussing the topic. Also, there are fewer available partners."Now that the little blue pill came out and men are functioning, those that are still alive in their 70s and 80s have ten women to every one guy," said Whelihan. Many older men also say they do not wear condoms and their partners are not requiring them.
"They always think about condom use for birth control protection and, of course, none of them are fearful of getting pregnant and so condom use doesn't play a role," said Whelihan.Whelihan said her patients often ignore the advice to use condoms, so she advises the next best thing."Let's do some routine sexually transmitted screening: HIV, hepatitis, herpes, gonorrhea and chlamydia yearly or every six months or at some interval so we can find these infections and treat them early," said Whelihan. There is also information on how to identify and treat sexually transmitted diseases on the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of STD Prevention and Control website. Bun B Injured During Gumball 3000 Rally Race, But Continued On

Legendary Texas rapper Bun B was reportedly injured during a stop in Stockholm, Sweden, during his participation in the 2010 Gumball 3000.

According to reports, the rapper fell off the stage at a concert, connected to the annual rally race, injuring his knee and right arm.

Despite his injuries, he refused to go to the hospital because he didn't want to miss his flight to the U.S. that morning for the North American leg of the race.

"We were all going on stage and it got kind of crowded. Someone fell onto me and I ended up falling off the stage and I split my knee open and sprained my ligaments in my right arm," Bun B wrote in a statement. "The problem was the injury happened at 4:30AM and we had to get on the bus at 8AM to catch the plane to America. If I had gone to the hospital I would have missed the flight so someone gave me Extra Strength Excedrin."

The rapper says if he stopped for medical attention, he would've been disqualified from the race, which he wanted to finish.

"This is the 4th day since the injury and I still haven't gone to a doctor. I can't afford to miss the Gumball," said Bun.

The Gumball 3000 is a two-continent road race that is 3,000 miles long. It began last weekend in London and concluded in New York's Times Square. In addition to Bun B, other participates included Eve, Xzibit, DJ Muggs, Estevan Oriol and others.
