Florida rapper Brisco, who is a recording artist on Cash Money Records, recently stopped by Miss Mimi's "Big Sundays" show on Shade 45 to discuss a few topics -- including the release of his upcoming debut, Street Medicine, and how he wants to bring the passion that Tupac brought in his music.
Later in the interview, Brisco talks about blowing a $400,000 inheritance in 10 months, which he received the day he turned 18 ... damn!

Slim Thug Has Words With Rick Ross, Triple Cs Member On Twitter

Slim Thug was confused last week when a track by Rick Ross surfaced, taking a shot at the Houston rapper and his status as a boss.
In one line on the track, titled "King Boss," Ross spits: "She dated Slim Thug / Now she f*** with me / She finally made it to the biggest boss, luckily."
After hearing the track Slim Thugga took to Twitter (@SlimThugga), asking Ross straight out if the newly leaked track was a diss. When the Miami rapper didn't respond, he took it as such.
Since then, Slim has been taking shots at Ross on Twitter, going as far as calling him a hater and exchanging words with Ross' Triple Cs group member Torch.
"Just threw @rickyrozay cd out the roof of the coupe haters get no play in my ride," Slim Thug tweeted.
"I reached out ask if it was a diss, if it was old, he shoulda just said dat but no response to me mean he still feel like dat," he later added.
Ross only replied with a short text (@RickyRozay): "realn****s pick up phones..a boss would kno better!!#trillsh**"
While Ross didn't get into a public back and forth tweet war, Triple C's Torch didn't mind. The rapper warned Slim to watch his mouth.
"Not U2 @slimthugga aka Slim Sukka I Promise this aint the Attention U Want..," Torch wrote (@TorchCCC). "I'm Not A Slim Thug Ima Fat Makk I don't Give A Fukk I'LL Push Ya Hat Bakk.. Should I Make A Trending topik out this Guy Yall??"
In response to Torch, Slim wrote: "I wasn't talking bout the HELP I got mo money then u and gunplay put 2gether RT @TORCHCCC: Not U2 @slimthugga aka Slim Sukka I Promise this"

Where this will go from here is unknown. Stay tuned...

Young Money Prez Mack Maine Says Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ Coming In November

Lil Wayne may be in jail until November, but he has all kinds of things lined up for his release.
First up, as announced back in July, an EP titled I'm Not A Human Being will drop on September 27th, on the rapper's birthday, which will feature all new material from the incarcerated rapper... and now, Tha Carter IV is up next.
In a recent interview with MTV, Young Money president Mack Maine revealed that when Weezy touches down on November 5th, they plan to drop the highly anticipated album, also knock as C4.
"Tha Carter IV plans we had and still have are to put Tha Carter IV out the day he comes out [of prison]," Mack told MTV this week. "He had so many songs for Tha Carter IV, we said let's just put these 10 songs out [on I Am Not a Human Being] and double-back for Tha Carter IV. He has more songs for Tha Carter IV that are still strong."
Despite being locked up, Mack says Wayne is heavily involved in the song selection process for the album, in addition to Birdman.
"It's basically me, him, Baby and Cortez Bryant mapping it out," Mack explained. "We had a listening session out here. It was me, Baby and Cortez. I let [Wayne] know these are the ones we picked. He already picked six of them from back there. I let him hear it over the phone. I book him a studio session -- kinda like I did for the 'Light Up' up remix with Drake. I book him a studio session and let him listen [to tracks] over the phone. 'Do you like this one?' 'Yeah?' "
As most have seen, Weezy had shot a slew of visuals for guest spots and the Rebirth LP before going to jail. However, Mack told MTV, none were shot for C4 or I Am Not A Human Being.
Right now, Mack says Young Money is contemplating the idea of just dropping C4 without the release of a single, just to surprise fans when they buy it...
"We might just drop the album that day," Mack said of C4. "Just hope it don't leak out and drop it that day. I think it would be crazy, the anticipation."
In addition to the tentative release of C4 on November 5th, the day Weezy touches down, they are also planning a welcome-home concert that night, which Weezy would headline, but nothing is confirmed at press time.

Rick Ross Proclaims Himself ‘King Boss,’ Takes Shot At Slim Thug?

Rick Ross has always referred to himself as the "bawse," but now he's proclaiming himself the "King Boss" in a recently released track.
In the track, he raps about convincing women that his "boss" status is official, and at one point, throws a jab Slim Thug's way.
Spitting over piano stabs, chimes and 808 drums, the Miami rapper raps: "She dated Slim Thug / Now she f*** with me / She finally made it to the biggest boss, luckily."
While it's unclear when the track was recorded, the Houston rapper has caught wind of it and responded via Twitter...
"WTF @rickyrozay is that a diss?," Slim Thug tweeted (@SlimThugga).
(Listen to "King Boss" right here )
Ross has yet to address the track and its possible diss to Slim Thug.
However, it's likely he's just referencing Slim to proclaim himself the biggest "boss", because, Slim too, refers to himself as a "boss."

Mariah Carey Addresses Pregnancy Rumors

Earlier this week, singer Mariah Carey made headlines when photos of her presence surfaced, showing a slightly larger version of herself.
The images fueled speculation that Carey was pregnant, which was reported back in June by RadarOnline.
The singer has broken her silence regarding the matter, releasing a vague statement neither confirming nor denying whether she's expecting.
"I appreciate everyone's well wishes. But I am very superstitious," Carey said, according to Rap-Up.com. "When the time is right, everyone will know -- even Cindi Berger [my publicist]."
Her husband, Nick Cannon, also weighed in on reports, via an interview with New York City's 92.3 NOW FM, but he too left fans wondering.
"Honestly... I say this to you so you can tell whoever it is you've got to tell, we all know it's extremely personal, and it is for a woman to deal with things with her body, and especially when dealing with the idea of childbirth and all that stuff," he stated.
"I've said it before and I'll say it time and time again," Cannon continued. "When my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her."

Wiz Khalifa Says He Turned Down Rick Ross To Sign With Maybach Music

Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa is quickly becoming a independent powerhouse all on his own ... and many in the industry are recognizing his buzz and hard work.
Earlier this month, he turned down an offer by Drake to join Drake on the road for his "Lightdreams and Nightmares Tour" with the Clipse because he said he was focused on building his own brand ... and well, he has his own headlining tour, "Waken Baken", as well.
Recently, Wiz revealed to Vibe.com that he also turned down an offer to sign with Rick Ross' Mayback Music label this summer, which Ross put out there during a taping of MTV's RapFix live.
"When I woke up and went to Twitter, I saw a bunch of people talking about it and was like 'What the hell?' So I went on the blogs and saw his [video]," Wiz told the mag. "Then Ross ended up calling me [the same day] to say it himself."
Khalifa says he ended the conversation with Ross by respectfully declining. He had already inked a deal with Atlantic Records, but tells Vibe that he would've passed on Ross' offer even without a deal.
"I would've kept doing what I was doing till I found something huge [outside of Maybach Music]. I'm all about standing behind my own brand instead of putting myself up under somebody else's," he explains. "[Success] might take a little bit longer and take more work, but in the end it pays off because I can stand right up there with my peers and have respect."
This kid sure seems determined to become a star doesn't he?
His official still-untitled debut is due in 2011, and for now, he's currently touring off his monster mixtape, Kush & Orange Juice, which is out now.

DJ Khaled Becomes Newest Artist On Cash Money Records

DJ Khaled had the Internet world buzzing last week, when he began tweeting (@TheRealDJKhaled) pictures of himself and Birdman riding in the Cash Money Records CEO's newly purchased Buggati, followed by texts revealing a "big meeting."
As the day continued, Khaled tweeted more photos -- including a sitdown with Birdman on a yacht, a picture of himself and Slim (Cash Money co-founder) -- before finally revealing that he was the newest member on the Cash Money Records roster.
Shortly after inking the deal, the DJ updated his Twitter timeline expressing his excitement.
"Deal is done!! We the best YMCMB!!!" Khaled wrote. "Hard work pays off! I'm on my way to the studio! We the best Cash Money! FREE WEEZY! WETHEBESTFOREVER coming soon!"
Details regarding the deal were not disclosed at press time, but from his tweets, it appears his upcoming Cash Money debut will be titled WETHEBESTFOREVER.
34-year-old DJ Khaled has released four albums, all via E1 Music, and dropped star-studded singles such as "Holla At Me," "We Takin' Over," "I'm So Hood," "Out Here Grindin'" and "All I Do Is Win."
Khaled is the latest addition to the Cash Money Records family, which already boasts the likes of Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Jay Sean, Kevin Rudolf, Tyga and Bow Wow, among others.

Wyclef Jean Out of Haiti Presidential Race

As reported Friday (August 20), musician Wyclef Jean's quest for the Haitian presidential seat was in question ... and later that same day, the list of qualified candidates came in and he didn't make the cut.
While what stipulations Jean didn't qualify are not known, its assumed that it was because of residency requirements -- a candidate must have lived in the country for five consecutive years leading up to the election.
Following the news of his disqualification, Jean posted this open letter at the Huffington Post:
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you today that the board of elections in Haiti has disqualified me from my run for the presidency of the country. Though I disagree with the ruling, I respectfully accept the committee's final decision, and I urge my supporters to do the same. We must all honor the memories of those we've lost -- whether in the earthquake, or at anytime -- by responding peacefully and responsibly to this disappointment.
I was inspired to run for president because I know Haiti can become great with the right leadership, and I believe I could be that leader; but, ultimately, we must respect the rule of law in order for our island to become the great nation we all aspire for it to be.
I want to assure my countrymen that I will continue to work for Haiti's renewal; though the board has determined that I am not a resident of Haiti, home is where the heart is -- and my heart has and will always be in Haiti. This ruling just tells me that I can't officially seek the office of president. More importantly, there is no one who can tell me to stop my work in Haiti, and there is no one who could. I think of my daughter, Angelina, and it makes me want to redouble my efforts to help give all the children in Haiti better days.
I also want to honor the memory of my father, a minister; I know that he would tell me that even though I've faced a setback, I must continue in all my good-faith efforts to help Haiti turn a corner to a better and brighter future. Do not think that my role in the future of Haiti is over; it's just a different role than I had anticipated it to be.
Rest assured, this isn't the end of my efforts to help improve my beloved country but only marks a new beginning.
Signed,
Wyclef Jean
Despite his words, in which he says he will respect the committee's ruling, Jean tells the Associated Press that he's not giving up on a bid to become the country's next president.
According to the AP, Jean said his lawyers will file an appeal with the national electoral dispute office.
He says that he has a document "which shows everything is correct" and that he and his aides "feel that what is going on here has everything to do with Haitian politics."
"They are trying to keep us out of the race," he said, referring to Haiti's political establishment.

Faith Evans Arrested In Los Angeles On DUI Charge

Singer Faith Evans, the widow of late rapper Notorious B.I.G., was busted for a DUI on Saturday evening (August 21) in Los Angeles.
According to reports, the 37-year-old singer was busted in the Marina Del Ray section of Los Angeles after stopping at a DUI checkpoint, where officers detected alcohol on her breath.
Evans was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.
She was held overnight, her vehicle was impounded, and was eventually released later Sunday morning.
Evans has yet to comment on the arrest.

Birdman Still The #1 Stunna, Cops 900 Karat Chain

in the hip-hop world knows Cash Money Records CEO, Birdman, is the #1 Stunna ... and this clip is further proof on why he still maintains that title today.
In a clip MTV posted on Thursday (August 19), which appears on DJ Scoob Doo's new DVD, "Entourage: Fetti Holmes Edition," the hip-hop mogul shows off a 900 karat medallion and even gets the jeweler on the phone to confirm with the camera.
"Its 900 karats right?," Birdman asks.
"Yes, 900 karats," the jeweler chimes in from the phone.
"900, not 859, not 800, this bitch is 900 K?" Birdman asks again.
"Nine, zero, zero, point, zero, zero," he responds.
"Aight, soo woo. Real talk. I love this bitch too. I got a lot of different pieces, but ain't none of them been 900K. This 900," Birdman says before the clip ends.
According to Scoob, this piece of jewelry is just the rapper/CEO's latest piece, further explaining to MTV that he's never re-sold jewelry to upgrade, but instead keeps every piece he's ever made.
"He's the type of person that also lets it be known he never re-sold his jewelry. You know how people have their first chain in their first video, swap it out, then get a new one? He has every piece of jewelry he ever owned," explains Scoob.

The DJ says he's been shooting footage with Birdman for months now, for use on his upcoming "Entourage" DVD, as well as the superstar's upcoming "Godfather" DVD. One thing Scoob says is Stunna is lazy at all, even though he can probably afford to be. He says he'svery much hands on.
"It's not like he orders people to work hard and he doesn't work hard himself. Or it's not like he's sleeping while everybody is working. No, he doesn't sleep either," Scoob explains. "You hear about Wayne not sleeping and being in the studio all night. Baby may not be recording, but it's not like he's in the other room with strippers and living life -— he's finding something to do. He practices what he preaches. He ain't on some sh** where he's trying to reap the rewards of other people's hard work. He's trying to get his hands dirty, he's putting in work himself."
"Entourage: Fetti Holmes Edition" is currently available on DJScoobDoo.com and will hit the streets August 27th.

Nicki Minaj And Keyshia Cole Catfight! :::: Beef

News abound that R&B star Keyshia Cole almost got into a physical altercation with either Nicki Minaj or one of Nicki's people during a recording session in Los Angeles some weeks ago. The two were supposed to be working on a song together when allegedly someone in Minaj's entourage said something off-color to the sometimes-volatile Cole.
"The two were supposed to be recording a song together when some words were exchanged – between Keyshia and one of the guys with Nicki. Keyshia was ready to fight and there was a lot of people in each others faces and pushing, but no punches were actually exchanged.”
No confirmation or denial from either camp as of yet

Jay-Z Tops Forbes’ 2010 Hip-Hop Cash Kings List With $63 Million

For the second year in a row, Jay-Z has been crowned 2010's "Hip-Hop Cash King" by Forbes, earning a ridiculous $63 million over the past 12 months.
The mag's opening sentence describes Hov's status among hip-hop's elite best: "Four years ago Jay-Z issued a lyrical taunt to his fellow rappers: 'What you call money, I pay more in taxes.' Turns out his line was more than just a boast."
Couldn't put it any better than that.
According to Forbes, the hip-hop superstar's income puts him the 35% tax bracket, which means when tax season rolls around, he'll be paying $22 million to the IRS. That's more than the total earnings of any other rap star besides this year's second-ranked star, Diddy.
"Jay-Z is in a league of his own right now," Ryan Schinman, chief of Platinum Rye, the country's largest buyer of music and talent for corporations, told Forbes. "There are very few artists of any genre, not just hip-hop, who've created such brands for themselves."
His earnings are thanks to 2009's The Blueprint 3, investments in his 40/40 nightclub chain, the Broadway show "Fela!", and his stake in NBA's New Jersey Nets. However, his biggest money maker came from the Blueprint 3 Tour, which grossed over $1 million per concert this year.
Last year, he topped the list with earnings of $35 million.
The report says that the top 20 earners on this year's Cash Kings list total around $300 million in earnings, despite a troubled economy and a music industry continuing its downward spiral.
Bad Boy Entertainment mogul, Diddy, comes in a #2 this year, earning $30 million, thanks to his deal with Diageo vodka, the parent company behind Ciroc, as well as roles in television and film. Additionally, his new Diddybeats headphones, his line established by Dr. Dre, is another item in his portflio.
The Forbes "Hip-Hop Cash Kings" list is determined by earnings estimates calculated between June 2009 and June 2010, which include income from record sales, digital downloads, touring, films, TV shows, endorsements, books and other entertainment ventures.
Weird, 50 Cent didn't even make this year's list, after earning $20 million in 2009 to come in at #4, and $100 million in 2008 to top the list.
The full list of the list's top 20 is as follows:
1. Jay-Z – $63 million
2. Diddy – $30 million
3. Akon – $21 million
4. Lil Wayne – $20 million
5. Dr. Dre – $17 million
6. Ludacris – $16 million
7. Snoop Dogg – $15 million
8. Timbaland – $14 million
9. Pharrell – $13 million
10. Kanye West – $12 million
11. Drake – $9 million
11. T.I. – $ 9 million
12. Swizz Beatz – $9 million
14. Eminem – $8 million
14.50 Cent – $8 million
14. Young Jeezy – $8 million
17. Common – $7 million
18. Soulja Boy – $7 million
18. T-Pain – $7 million
20. Lil Jon – $5 million
20. Gucci Mane – $5 million
20. Rick Ross – $5 million

Swizz Beatz Inks New Record Deal, Preps Second Solo Album

Swizz Beatz has been going through a personal roller-coaster over the past year. Following his divorce from Mashonda, his rumored relationship with Alicia Keys was finally confirmed and then, they announced their engagement and pregnancy, before finally tying the knot late last month overseas.
With all that out of the way, the super producer is finally back to business, and has revealed that he's signed a new record deal and is prepping his second solo album.
Swizzy has inked a deal with Everest Entertainment and Atlantic/Warner Records to release his second, as-yet-untitled solo album.
The set, due this fall, is expected to feature long list of stars including Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, John Legend, Drake, and T.I.
"I couldn't ask to be in a better place right now," Swizz told Rap-Up. "Both Everest and the Atlantic/Warner team have been great and I'm looking forward to sharing this project with true fans of good music."
With the new record, he says he hopes to make the music long-lasting and has been taking sounds from all his travels across the globe and bringing it into the studio.
"2010 I feel is my graduation year and so I want to graduate my brand, my image, my music, my sound, my audience, my reach -- everything, so my album is going to reflect that," Swizzy says. "I traveled to different countries and collected sounds and am bringing it back to the culture. Nobody's really raising the bar. In music, there's things that artists are just getting by with. I feel like we need to bring something more tangible to the table so it's not a bubblegum factory where the fans are chewing up the latest flavor and spitting it out."

Ciara’s New Promo Pics, Plus Bow Wow on If They’ll Get Back Together

Ciara makes me want to put down the gummy bears and hit the gym. Check her out in new promo pics for her upcoming album “Basic Instinct” which she plans to deliver in October.

In other news, Ciara showed up to the ATL premiere of “Lottery Ticket” starring her ex Bow Wow last week. See what Bow Wow had to say about her surprise appearance and if he thinks the two would get back together below:
I was just as shocked as everybody else was. I’m happy that she came out and enjoyed the movie. I saw that she had tweeted about it so I hit her back and said ‘Thanks, I definitely appreciate it’. But you know how that is, the moment people see us even close or near each other it starts raising eyebrows but no, I’m totally focused to on the project at hand and my career right now. That’s all I will be focused on. I wish her the best of luck. I was definitely glad she came out and supported the film. We’re growing older, we’re maturing and we’re adults and we’re able to go to each other’s events. We’re not the only ex-couple I’ve seen support each other so it shows growth and it’s all good.

Juvenile Pleads Guilty To Marijuana Possession, Dodges Jail Time

New Orleans rapper Juvenile pleaded guilty to a marijuana possession charge in Louisiana, managing to dodge jail time.
The 34-year-old rapper (real name: Terius Gray) entered his plea last Thursday (August 10) to a misdemeanor possession of marijuana stemming from an arrest from February.
The judge gave Juve a suspended sentence of three months in jail, six months probation, and pay a $250 fine and court costs.
Juve was arrested in late February when cops were called to a friend's home in Arabi, Louisiana -- where he was recording -- when neighbors called police because of an overwhelming smell of marijuana smoke coming from the residence.
When police showed, they searched the home and arrested two people.
Juvenile's latest album, Beast Mode, is in stores now.
