Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty to Drug Possession In Arizona

Although incarcerated at Rikers Island Prison for a felony gun charge, Lil Wayne is still a wanted a man in Arizona.
As previously reported Wayne was arrested in 2008 in Yuma, Arizona after authorities searched his tour bus and found a loaded hand gun, marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.
He previously pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Now however Weezy's changing his tune and appeared on a live video feed to plead guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug.
His guilty plea is part of a plea deal with prosecutors that will drop the charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia against him.
Instead of jail time Weezy now faces 36 months probation.
He is scheduled to be released from Rikers Island in November.

Prison Guard Fired For Spying On Lil Wayne

A former guard at New York’s Rikers Island jail is threatening to sue prison bosses after she was fired for allegedly spying on the facility’s most famous inmate - Lil Wayne.
Amelia Negron was dismissed from her position at the institution last month after she was accused of wandering into the unit where the star is being held, without proper authorization.
Negron admits she did go into the unit, but denies she was there to see the rapper - who is serving a year-long sentence on gun possession charges - insisting she wanted to speak to a colleague. The 33 year old is adamant the charges against her aren’t true - and she’s consulting lawyers over plans to file suit against her former bosses at the prison.
She tells the New York Daily News, "I don’t even like rap. I like rock and alternative music and didn’t know much about him when they said I tried to see him. None of it’s true. The door to the area was unlocked, and so I went in to say hello, and that officer said, ’Hey, you can’t be here. We’ve got a celeb here.’ I said, ’Okay, no problem,’ turned around and left. (I) did nothing wrong, but (I was) threatened with criminal charges, transfers, suspensions."
A spokesman for the Correction Department claims Negron’s dismissal was "entirely appropriate".

Jim Jonsin Sues Lil Wayne Over Royalties For 'Lollipop'

Lil Wayne is no stranger to lawsuits, even if he's behind bars. The latest comes from producer Jim Jonsin, who claims the rapper owes him money.
According to a New York Post report, the producer has hit Weezy (real name: Dwayne Carter, Jr.) with a lawsuit over royalties for the rapper's hit single, "Lollipop," which he produced.
He claims he's yet to receive a royalty check from the single, even though it's one of biggest singles the rapper's ever had.
Jonsin is suing for $500,000.
Earlier this year, Lil Wayne was sued for $2.5 million for copyright infringement over his single, "Mrs. Officer," after the song's producer said the rapper and his label stopped paying him royalties for the single.
Before that, in 2008, he was sued by Karma Ann Swanepoel and her publishing company over samples used on Weezy's widely distributed track, "Dying." They claim the rapper samples her song, "Once," without permission or consent.
Both lawsuits are pending.

Prison Bars Can’t Keep Him Pinned; Weezy Pens Penitentiary Letter To His Fans

It’s not quite the same as a Ustream chat, but Lil Wayne has found a way to keep in touch with his fans while serving out the rest of his prison term. The rapper recently penned a letter from his fans while behind bars…
The new site, http://weezythanxyou.com , has been launched and Weezy has wasted no time in penning his first letter for all of his fans to read in order to give an update on his thoughts and what’s still to come.
Love. Live. Life. Proceed. Progress. That’s who I am and who I’ll always be. You see, we’re all living on borrowed time, so I’m not worried about this situation. Life happens quick. The more time you spend contemplating what you should have done…you lose valuable time planning what you can and will do. Trying to tear down the past prohibits you from building up your future. So for my time here, my physical will be confined to the yard. My love and my spirit, however, know no boundaries. I’m in good spirits man, for real. My kids race through my mind all day. They know they were created with love, so love is how their life will be defined. I just hope my love and adoration for them provides a temporary bandage on a wound I unknowingly inflicted on them.

Lil’ Wayne Misses Court in Arizona And A Bench Warrant Is Issued BUT… He’s Already In Jail

First we want to know how something like this is even legal in the justice system??? Regardless, it seems like Lil’ Wayne can’t catch a break. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest for failing to appear in Arizona for a court appearance.
…Arizona court for possession of drugs and weapons charges.
The warrant comes from Yuma County Superior Court judge Mark Wayne Reeves who issued the papers after Wayne failed to appear for a final trial management conference.
Ha? Exactly…
Wayne is currently locked up in Rikers Island for the next eight months at least for criminal gun possession charges in New York so obviously he had a valid reason for not being there.
We know his lawyer still has to be getting a check and just because Weezy is in jail obviously his lawyer’s job is not done

Antonia “Toya” Carter Speaks On Lil Wayne’s Jail Sentence: “It Is What It Is… We Just Gotta Make The Best Of It”

Antonia Carter recently did an interview with VIBE magazine speaking on how their daughter, Reginae Carter, was really having a difficult time with all the date changes and the day that Lil Wayne was finally sentenced.
“It was up and down, you know. One minute we thought he was going and she’d be sad and then he don’t go. The last day he finally went in, we didn’t go, so my daughter was like, ‘I wish I would’ve went.’ It was just too much.”
Toya says Lil Wayne encouraged her to be strong while he was locked up, adding that he wanted Reginae’s cell phone to remain turned on so she can answer whenever he calls. Reginae will get to visit Wayne in jail, noting, quote, “at this point it is what it is, and we just gotta make the best of it.”
All of Lil Wayne’s other children will be to young to remember any of this, so Reginae this has to be really hard. Do you think it’s a good idea for Reginae to visit her father in jail???
On a side note, Toya is still going strong in her new relationship with Memphitz.

Lil Wayne Prohibited From Signing Autographs In Jail

Lil Wayne has reportedly been ordered not to sign any autographs during his time in jail.
On Monday, the Grammy-winning rapper — who pleaded guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and admitted having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007 — was sentenced to one year on New York’s Rikers Island.
“Lil Wayne is not a celebrity in here,” says a representative for the Correction Officer’s Benevolent Association.

Lil Wayne’s Life As A Prison Mistress: An Inside Look At “Inmate Carter”

If you are curious as to what Little Weezykins is doing while serving time at Riker’s, please flip the script for details…
“Inmate Carter is in a category of housing that we call ‘general population/escort,’ ” a New York City Department of Corrections official tells PEOPLE. That means when he leaves the housing area (his cell or the day room), he will have a captain escorting him at all times. On an hourly basis, the rapper can decide if he wants to be locked in his cell or locked out of it – for security reasons, inmates are not allowed to freely move between their cell and the common areas.
What else can Lil’ Wayne expect from the year ahead? The official shared the following details:
The Day Room
In this common area, which he shares with 19 other inmates, Lil Wayne can watch television, play cards, read the paper or just socialize. Since the day room is within the housing area, he does not have an escort here.
The Meals
Breakfast is served at 4:30 a.m. Since a number of inmates will be going to court on any given day, the morning starts early for Riker’s residents. Lunch is served at 11, dinner at 4:30 p.m.
The Clothes
Lil Wayne will wear the standard institutional clothing: Green work shirt and pants, slip-on style sneakers.
The Cell
His six-by-ten space features a steel cot connected to the wall, a mattress, a sheet, a blanket and a pillow. There’s a sink and toilet in the cell as well, plus his personal property which includes the standard cup, razor, toothbrush and soap assigned to each inmate.
Outside the Housing Area
With his escort, Lil Wayne can leave the housing area for attorney visits, regular visits (he’ll get two per week with up to three visitors), religious services or jail-offered programs such as one that helps inmates transition back into society. While some inmates have work assignments in and around the jail, he will not because, “then you’d have to send somebody off to escort him every day,” says the official.
Recreation
One hour per day. The rapper’s facility features outdoor basketball courts.
The Commissary
He can buy snacks and toiletries from his Commissary account, which friends and family can contribute to online. Reports that he’ll have an ipod are untrue, though he can purchase a battery-operated AM/FM radio and earphones to listen to music.
They failed to mention how Weezy will get his daily supply of stacked cups and sizzurp…

Lil Wayne Finally Begins One Year Jail Sentence

After a series of live video streams and goodbyes on concert stages, Lil Wayne was finally sentenced to a year in jail on Monday (March 8), as part of a plea deal for a 2007 gun charge.
According to the Associated Press, his lawyer Stacey Richman said the rapper was resolute as he was taken away.
"He knew what he had to do, and he's doing it," she told the news provider.
The rapper (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) will serve out his sentence at the Island jail complex, where he's expected to be held in protective custody. However, the city's Correction Department said it was still deciding on that.
Protective custody is given to inmates who, for a variety of reasons including notoriety, require separation from the general prison population.
If he has no infractions while behind bars, he could be released in about eight months with good behavior.
Lil Wayne was arrested in July 2007 for a gun possession charge in Manhattan. Just last year, he pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, admitting guilt to having a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus.
In his final tweet before heading to court, Weezy told followers he'll be back.
"Law is mind without reason ... I'll return," he tweeted (@LilTuneChi) Monday morning.

Weezy Escapes Jail… AGAIN!!!

We’re starting to think Weezy will never see the inside of Riker’s Island. Pop the hood to find out what’s keeping him out of jail now.
Lil Wayne will not begin his one year sentence at Riker’s Island today now that his sentencing has been postponed again for a third time.
As previously reported Wayne was supposed to go to jail on February 9th but was given an additional few weeks of freedom so that he could receive dental work.
Following that he was supposed to begin his prison sentence yesterday March 2nd, but the New York courthouse where he was scheduled to appear caught fire.
Now however Lil Wayne will not go to jail today as scheduled due to repairs being made on the courthouse.

Lil Wayne Says Marijuana Smell Was A Selling Point For His Condo

Lil WayneBack in December, the Page Six ran a report about Lil Wayne's marijuana obsession standing in the way of him unloading one of his properties.
According to the paper, when a couple came to see the property, they were greeted by scantily clad women and an overwhelming smell of marijuana.
Weezy never addressed the rumors, until now. In a recent interview with Tim Westwood, the rapper revealed that some of the reports were actually accurate.
But, he said it didn't scare away buyers. It actually was a selling point for him.
"We're not having trouble selling it, but all the other stuff is true," Wayne told Westwood. "The people that are coming to look at it like that more about it. That's like waking in Bob Marley's crib and you still smelling weed and his bed still messed up, and food still on the table. You're like, 'Leave all that sh**. I want to buy all that sh**.' "
You can check out the interview with Tim Westwood below. He speaks on the above story at 5:35:

Lil Wayne may end up in front of a judge again, but this time to defend himself against a copyright infringement lawsuit.

According to the lawsuit, the record was produced by Darius “Deezle” Harrison, who claimed he owns the rights the song, along with all profits that have been derived from the hit song, which also featured R&B crooner Bobby Valentino and rapper Kidd Kidd.
“Mrs. Officer” peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks chart was one of the popular singles off of Tha Carter III, which sold over a million copies the first week it was in stores.

Lil’ Wayne + His Jacked Up Grill = 8 ROOT CANALS!!!

Like they say, “Everything That Glitter Ain’t Gold” and neither are Lil’ Wayne’s real teeth. Earlier this month, Lil’ Wayne’s sentencing was delayed because he needed some dental done, which included 8 Root Canals!!!
DAYYUMM… That’s a Messed Up Grill!!!
We’re told during the eight hour procedure, Wayne had his grill worked on, several tooth implants redone, more implants added and had the few real teeth he had left repaired.
Even though his mouth was covered in platinum and diamonds, his real teeth were so rotten underneath that he needed a REBIRTH.

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) After a commanding performance at the Grammy Awards ceremony last week, Lil Wayne, one of music's biggest sellers and rap's hottest stars, is probably going to jail today.

The Grammy-winning artist will appear in court Tuesday for sentencing for a gun possession charge. His plea deal calls for a year in jail, though good behavior could shave that to as little as eight months.

He's likely to start serving his sentence immediately, making him the latest in a string of rap stars to do time after topping the charts.

"This is Lil Wayne going to jail. Nobody can tell me what that's like," the rapper told Rolling Stone magazine for its latest issue. "I just say I'm looking forward to it."

His plea deal calls for him to serve his sentence not in state prison but in the New York City jail system. City Department of Correction spokesman Stephen Morello wouldn't discuss any arrangements being made to house Lil Wayne among the roughly 13,500 inmates in the massive Rikers Island complex and other jails. Most inmates are awaiting trial.

Some inmates are separated from the general population because of their celebrity or other reasons, but "there's no special-inmates wing," Morello said.

Lil Wayne, 27, pleaded guilty in October of 2009 to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, admitting he illegally had a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus in July 2007. Police found the weapon when they stopped the bus after a Manhattan concert.

A rapper since he was a teenager, Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Carter, became known for his voluminous output and collaborations with other artists.

His career hit a peak in the last two years. His "Tha Carter III" led 2008 album sales with 2.8 million copies sold and featured such hits as the No. 1 smash "Lollipop." His Grammys include 2008's best rap solo performance award, for "A Milli."

Lil Wayne's Last Day of Freedom... Daily Itinerary At Rikers Island

“Reality hasn't set in that he has to go to jail yet.  He shouldn't have to go to jail”
After pleading guilty to gun possession charges back in October 2009, Lil Wayne will now have to report to the court February 9 to receive his one year sentence at Rikers Island.
Leaving his imprint and featuring himself in as many video's, songs, etc as possible before the bid, Wayne is making sure that his time will not heavily effect his fans and will leave them with enough material to soak up until his release.
Stating that he will make sure that he will have an iPod to go through beats, a source within the confines of the cell assures the fact that the rapper will not actually be entitled to such luxuries.  Coinciding with other stipulations, the rapper will see his dreadlocks left intact as it is no longer mandatory for a prisoner to cut their hair.
Already putting in work for The Carter IV and stating that he will continue recording, Weezy might come to realize that serving for the state means that it is no longer Wayne's world.
Who's to know exactly how Lil Wayne will choose to spend his last hours as a free man, but one thing known for sure is the fact that he will leave that cell even hungrier and have more than enough stories to tell in the climb to claiming his spot back.
Check Nicki Minaj speak on Lil Wayne's sentence and other stipulations at Riker's Island.
