Snoop Dogg Banned From Free Dutch Festival In The Netherlands

Snoop DoggSnoop Dogg was dropped from the line-up of free festival in the Netherlands recently after the town banned him from performing.
According to the BBC, the rapper was banned from performing at a free annual Dutch concert called Parkpop in the city of The Hague after town's authorities (including the mayor) asked organizers to find a replacement to ensure the "open and friendly character" of the concert.
Snoop is reportedly "astonished" by the ban.
In a statement, the rapper's management wrote: "There's been much speculation that, given the enormous response by Snoop's fans to the free festival, the local authorities would not be able to provide sufficient security."
"Snoop is a mainstay at music festivals all over the world and has performed at all of these without incident," says Snoop's publicist.
Despite the ban in The Hague, the rapper's reps said he was scheduled to perform at other concerts in the Netherlands including Groningen, Amsterdam and Tilburg.
This isn't the first time Snoop has had problems with traveling overseas.
In 2006, he was permanently barred from entering the UK after he was arrested at London's Heathrow Airport on charges of violent disorder. The ban was later reportedly lifted.
Then, in April 2007, Snoop was denied entry into Australia after the then-Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews said the rapper "doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country."

Manute Bol, One Of The Tallest NBA Players Passes Away…

manute bol passes away
Manute Bol, who became a basketball sensation in the 1980s as a skeletally thin shot-blocking giant with the Washington Bullets and other professional teams, and who devoted his post-basketball life to improving the lot of his fellow natives of Sudan, died June 19 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was 47.
His cousin George Bol said Mr. Bol had internal bleeding and other complications from Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, a rare skin disease that he contracted from a medication he received in Africa.
Mr. Bol, one of the two tallest players in NBA history, was also one of its most exotic and endearing — and surely the only one to have killed a lion with a spear. His unusual journey to basketball stardom began in southern Sudan, where he was a cattle-herding member of the Dinka tribe and never touched a basketball until his late teens. After catching the eye of an American coach working in Sudan, Mr. Bol made his way to the United States without knowing a word of English.
So sad. Too many folks are leaving us. R.I.P.

Suge Knight Suing Kanye West For 2005 Shooting, Pair Face-Off In New York

Suge Knight is going forward with an impending lawsuit against Kanye West after the former Death Row Records head says he was injured at a club where he performed.
As previously reported, Knight filed a million dollar lawsuit against West and the Shore Club, a Miami nightclub where Kanye performed after the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards.
According to the lawsuit Knight lost a valuable earring at the club before being shot in the femur during an altercation.
Knight also claims that he paid $200,000 in medical bills for his injury; a shattered femur, and lost an earring worth $135,000 because Ye and the Shore Club failed to have accurate security at the event.
The pair and their lawyers met at a New York office building Friday to discuss what happened that August night.
Their meeting lasted six hours and afterwards a disappointed Knight told the Associated Press that a resolution had not been reached.
"I figured I could sit him down, man to man, and get this resolved. I'm disappointed.”
He also adds that he doesn't want Kanye to go to jail but wants him to take responsible for his actions.
My whole thing is: I'm not here to put nobody behind bars, it's time for more positive now.”
If Knight wins the million dollar lawsuit he'll have to give a large portion of his settlement to the IRS after filing for bankruptcy in 2006.
