Daniel Cormier-Jon Jones Rematch to Headline UFC 200 :::: #Sports

After scrapping the Conor McGregor-Nate Di
az rematch, the UFC announces that a light heavyweight unification bout between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones will headline UFC 200.
UFC president Dana White made the announcement on Good Morning America on Wednesday (April 27) for the event, which takes place on July 9 in Las Vegas.
The fight follows Jones's return last weekend, who defeated Ovince Saint Preux via unanimous decision after a 15-month layoff, and earned the interim 205-pound title.

Before that, Jones last entered the Octagon in January 2015, when he defeated Cormier by decision -- his eighth consecutive title defense. However, three months later, he was arrestedin Albuquerque, NM, on a felony hit-and-run charge and stripped of his UFC title. In September, he entered a plea deal that allowed him to avoid jail time, in exchange for probation.
In his absence, Cormier (17-1) won the vacant title last May, when he submitted Anthony Johnson at UFC 187. Since then, he's earned one defense -- a split decision over Alexander Gustafsson in October.
Cormier and Jones were supposed to fight again at UFC 197, but a leg injury forced him to withdraw three weeks prior to the event... and Saint Preux replaced him instead.
