Assault Charges Against Singer Mario Dropped

Back in October, when singer Mario was arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother, fans were shocked ... but now, he's off the hook for the incident, after his mother said otherwise.
On October 1, police arrested the 24-year-old singer after his mother, Shawntia Hardaway, claimed he had gotten violent, began throwing around stuff in the apartment they share, and pushed her around.
She also alleged that Mario shoved her into a wall a week before.
, Shawntia completely changed her story in court on Wednesday (November 3) in Baltimore, saying she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she called the cops ... and that the allegedly assault was made up.
After her testimony, the Baltimore state's attorney's office dropped the assault charge against Mario.
Despite the incident, Mario's attorney said the singer "remains committed to helping his mother battle her addiction."
