Magic, Pistons Trade: Tobias Harris for Jennings & Ilyasova :::: #NBA

The Detroit Pistons have landed Tobias Harris from the Orlando Magic in exchange for Brandon Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova, the teams announced Tuesday.
With both teams currently out of playoff position, they're looking for ways to get back in.
By acquiring Harris, the Pistons get a young power forward with shooting range, but will have to absord the four-year, $64 million deal he signed last year. He is averaging 13.7 points and 7.0 rebounds this season.

"This is a move that can be looked at as a long-term move, as one that will fit with our core group of players, and we'll be able to keep them together," Detroit general manager Jeff Bower tells ESPN.
On the flip side, the Magic -- who had one of the youngest rosters in the league -- get two veterans to help in a run for the playoffs. They're currently 3 1/2 games behind Charlotte for the eighth seed... with a 23-29 record.
"We see Brandon and Ersan as really good fits, both short-term and long-term for us," said Magic GM Rob Hennigan. "We also were able to open up some flexibility this summer in the cap-space realm, if we decided to go that route. It sets up a few different ways we can play this."
