Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he'd make "easy work" of reigning middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin at 160 pounds, though he admits he'd struggle to make weight.
"I can barely make 147, so how am I gonna fight at 160? Triple G, not being disrespectful, but he's straight up and down, no special effects. That's easy work. With the [Manny] Pacquiao fight, you know, 10 rounds to two, that was a blowout," Mayweather said, according to FightHype.
Floyd rarely fought above the welterweight limit of 147 pounds during the latter years of his career, so it's unlikely a fight between him and Triple G would ever happen.
With that said, Golovkin said he'd "be willing to come down to 154 to fight Mayweather," reports FOX, so the option is there. However, Mayweather has consistently maintained that he's retired.
Golovkin is currently scheduled to take on Dominic Wade on April 23. If he wins, he'll improve to 35-0.
