With the Ghostbusters reboot coming this summer, there's been talk online of the return of Hi-C's Ecto Cooler. Now, reports are confirming the drink's return.
According to ScreenCrush, Coca-Cola re-registered the trademark for the Ghostbusters-inspired beverage last fall, and while the company has yet to make an official announcement, packaging has popped up online, suggesting that it will, indeed, be back.
A "test can" for Ecto Cooler has popped up on eBay, selling for a whopping $400 USD, as well as a blank test box, which features a September expiration date.
This could mean that Ecto Cooler will return in new mini cans, as well as in nostalgic juice box form. But for now, we'll have to await the announcement.
The first trailer for Ghostbusters arrives on March 6, with the film to follow on July 15. Sometime between these days, we may see the return of Ecto Cooler. Stay tuned...
