Fours months after he was suspended in the DeflateGate controversy, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had the four-game suspension lifted by a federal judge.
According to ESPN.com, U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman ruled Thursday (September 3) that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell went too far in affirming punishment of the Super Bowl-winning quarterback, criticizing him for dispensing "his own brand of industrial justice."
Despite being punished, Brady has denied that he had any part in a conspiracy to deflate footballs below the allowable limit during last season's AFC Championship Game.
The judge's ruling doesn't necessarily end the dispute, though. The league can appeal, which would take place in the U.S. Appeals Court, 2nd Circuit.
Following the news, the Patriots, who were fined $1 million and docked two draft picks as part of the league's initial punishment, tweeted the following.
