NY Giants Cut Palm Beach native Receiver Preston Parker :::: #NFL

Preston ParkerThe New York Giants released wide receiver Preston Parker on Tuesday (Sept. 22), after dropping five passes in their first two games this season.
The move comes as somewhat of a surprise, since quarterback Eli Manning said this week that Parker is "going to be fine. "I'm going to keep throwing to him," he said.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Parker was cut to make room for defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis. However, when pressed about his performance... he admitted that this season hasn't been his best.
"Preston Parker, for the majority of the time he was here, was a physical, tough football player who made plays when called upon," Coughlin said. "That hadn't been the case so far this year. We thank him for his service."

Parker was called upon last year when Victor Cruz went down, due to injury. He recorded 36 passes for 418 yards and two touchdowns.
With Cruz still sidelined to start this season, Parker again got the job as the team's #3 receiver and had five catches for 43 yards in the first two games. But, as mentioned, dropped five passes.
