Jordan reunites with Creed director Ryan Coogler, who has been tapped to direct.
Actor Chadwick Boseman, who portrays Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War, will star in the film, while Lupita Nyong'o is currently in negotiations, says THR.
It's currently unclear who Jordan will play, but sources say it could be a villain.
Black Panther is slated for release Feb. 16, 2018, with production set to start in early 2017.
