Tim Tebow's dream of being an NFL quarterback has been taken away again, after the Philadelphia Eagles released him before the final roster deadline.
The 28-year-old was competing for the third-string quarterback job, but he didn't make the cut, reports ESPN.
All NFL teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday (September 5).
With Tebow out, the Eagles have just two quarterbacks on their current roster -- Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.
Tebow has not appeared in an NFL regular-season game since December 2012.
