Lakers Land Roy Hibbert In Trade With The Pacers

After landing guard Lou Williams and forward Brandon Bass, the Los Angeles Lakers landed another major piece this offseason: center Roy Hibbert.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the team landed the 7-foot-2 big man via a trade with the Indiana Pacers, in exchange for a second-round draft pick and cash.
Hibbert also waived $2.2 million of his trade bonus to join the Lakers.

He was eligible to receive 15% of his $15.5-million salary for the coming season, which came out to $2.3 million, to be paid out by the Pacers. Instead, he will receive a bonus of just $78,185.
With the Lakers, Hibbert's salary now counts as $15.6 million on the Lakers' books for the coming season.
Hibbert was the centerpiece of at the Pacers' team, which reached back-to-back Eastern Conference finals in 2013 and '14. But, team president Larry Bird said Indiana would play at a faster tempo, which would've limited Hibbert's role.
