The Seattle Seahawks have signed quarterback Russell Wilson to a new four-year contract extension, worth a reported $87.6 million.
According to Sports Illustrated, the deal also includes $60 million guaranteed.
The deal puts him close to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is the NFL's highest-paid player ... with a deal worth an average of $22 million annually.
The 26-year-old Wilson was scheduled to make just $1.54 million this season, the fourth and final year of his rookie contract.
He has led his Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, winning the franchise's first in 2014.
On Friday (July 31), Wilson said he's staying in Seattle for four more years.
