Rowdy Roddy PiperWrestling legend "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has died at the age of 61, reports TMZ.
Piper, who was born Roderick George Toombs, died after suffering a heart attack at his Hollywood home on Thursday night (July 30), before his body was found the following day, Friday (July 31).
He was a wrestling icon and one of the biggest stars in the WWE, then called the WWF, in the 1980s.  He headlined the first WrestleMania in 1985, facing off in a tag-team match with Paul Orndorff, against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.
Piper was previously diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2006, but this past November, said he was cancer free.
He was admitted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and was one of the top 50 villains in the history of the franchise..
Piper is survived by his wife Kitty and their four kids -- including three daughters and son Colton, who is also pursuing a career in professional wrestling.
