Lady Gaga is no longer the most popular person on Twitter. Teen superstar Justin Bieber surpassed her this weekend.
As of press time, he leads with just over 11,000 followers, with a total of 33,351,570 (@JustinBieber), while Gaga is close behind with 33,340,856 (@LadyGaga).
According to Twittercounter, which provides detailed stats on the top 100 most followed people, Bieber is adding new followers at an average rate of about 37,000 daily. Gaga adds around 29K, so the pair ma flip-flop back-n-forth throughout the year.
Katy Perry is third with 31 million, Rihanna comes in fourth with nearly 28 million, and Barack Obama closes out the top 5 with just over 26 million.
