De La Soul is Not Dead: The Documentary (Full) :::: #Music

Mass Appeal officially rolls out a new documentary about legendary hip-hop trio, De La Soul, taking viewers all the way back.

Titled De La Soul Is Not Dead, the documentary returns to Amityville, Long Island, where it all started. Three high school classmates linked up with Prince Paul and shopped a demo tape to Tommy Boy Records. There, they released their smash hit, "Me Myself and I", marking the beginning of a very long career.

It's been 25 years since De La Soul Is Dead, their sophomore album, and 20 years since Stakes Is High, their first project without Prince Paul at the helm. These two pivotal releases positioned the group on the career trajectory that leads them to this extraordinary moment.

The doc follows the release of their latest album, And The Anonymous Nobody, which topped Billboard's Rap Albums Chart last week. Funded by a half-million-dollar Kickstarter campaign, the group's first new album in over a decade features diverse guest spots from Snoop Dogg to David Byrne.
