Browns’ Robert Griffin III Out With Fractured Shoulder :::: #Sports

Robert Griffin III suffered a fractured bone in his left shoulder on Sunday (Sept. 11), and may miss most of the NFL season.

The 26-year-old has been placed on injured reserve, and is expected to miss at least eight games. While surgery is not required, the team said RG3's shoulder will not be re-evaluated for three to four weeks... and the earliest he could return would be Nov. 10 at Baltimore.

"It's very unfortunate, Robert came in and has worked extremely hard to learn our offense and earn the respect of his teammates," said Browns coach Hue Jackson in a statement. "This is a tough loss because everyone has seen how invested he has been in this team and his dedication to the work needed to improve his craft.

"We all know these are the realities of the NFL, injuries occur and you have to find ways to overcome them so they don't impede your progress."

Griffin hurt his left shoulder during a tackle at the end of a run, with just under four minutes left in Sunday's game against the Eagles. He finished the game with 190 yards, going 12-of-26, with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception. And, the Browns lost 10-29.

With Griffin out, Josh McCown returns as starter. He started 8 games for the Browns last season, when Johnny Manziel was benched.
