#KobeBryant Out For Season With Ruptured Achilles, Says He'll Be Back :::: NBA

The tough road of the Los Angeles Lakers got a little worse on Friday night (April 12), when Kobe Bryant fell to the floor in the fourth quarter in pain. The injury: ruptured Achilles tendon in his left leg.
The 34-year-old NBA superstar underwent surgery the following afternoon (April 13), and is expected to be out for six to nine months, reports ESPN.com. The team hopes Kobe will be ready for the start of the 2013-14 NBA season.
It's been a rough year for the Laker' roster, which has endured a rash of injuries -- Dwight Howard had come into the season, coming off back surgery and later had a shoulder injury; Steve Nash broke his leg; Steve Blake had an abdominal surgery; Jordan Hill underwent a hip surgery; Metta (World Peace) had a knee surgery; and Antawn Jamison will have surgery after the season is over on his wrist.
Longtime trainer Gary Vitti called it "bad luck.
