N.B. Interview with #Lilbo561 on #Globalhiphopevents ::::: #ArtistInterviews

(Lilbo561)Tell Me about yourself?

(N.B.)I’m N.B short for Norris Bennett, aka N.B the Rapper/Sanger Dude, I was born in Douglas, Ga. My father was in the military so our family moved around a lot, so I was constantly traveling so I had the opportunity to discover different cultures and environments, which would eventually open doors to many things.
Starting around age four, I would sing and perform for family, friends, neighbors, and anyone that was around and willing to listen. Whenever or wherever there was music, I was there. That was the start of my passion of music, singing, and performing. As I got older I strayed away from music and performing and became more interested in other things like girls, clubs, and drinking. But no matter how hard I fought, the passion to sing and perform was still in my heart.
While working extremely hard on my music career I felt as though no one in my hometown was making any progress or better yet any "major moves", so I decided to make it happen on my own. I became a man on a mission; a mission to be heard, seen and taken seriously in the music industry, so I set out to master my singing voice, and shortly after mastering my singing voice I began to rap. In 2006 I decided quit my job to pursue his music full time.

(Lilbo561)Where were you born? What city and County you reppin?

(N.B.)
I was born in Douglas, GA, that’s in Coffee County.

(Lilbo561)What are your achievements to this date?

(N.B.)
I’ve done a lot to this date, I’ve had a distribution deal with Warner Music Group in 2010, ranked top 5 unsigned artist in Georgia and Florida on a few blogs, ranked one of top independent artist on ReverbNation, I’ve co-hosted WPRK radio station a few times in Orlando. I was Battle Ground champion six weeks in a row in Atlanta. And just being able to stay relevant especially as an independent artist on social media sites.
(Lilbo561)who are some artist you worked with so far?

(N.B.)
Ive worked with a lot of independent artist, but I had an opportunity in 2007-2008 to do a little writing for Grand Hustle.

(Lilbo561)who are you currently signed to?

(N.B.)
I am currently not signed but there are some possibilities on the table.

(Lilbo561)Who was your favorite manager and why?

(N.B.)
I am and have always been my favorite manager, because no one will believe in you like you believe in yourself.

(lilbo561)Where would you like to be in your career five years from now?

(N.B.)
To be a CEO of my own independent record label, find and develop talented artist and give them the knowledge that I didn’t have about this music game.

(lilbo561)I see you staring your own clothing line how is that going and what is it call?

(N.B.)
Though I am a jack of all trades, I’m not currently starting my own clothing line but I do see the possibility in the future.

(Lilbo561)How would you feel about working for someone who knows less than you?

(N.B.)
I feel that you can learn something from anyone, but at this point in my career, I just wouldn’t put myself in that position.

(Lilbo561)What do you like to do for fun?

(N.B.)
I enjoy playing Xbox, watching movies, hitting the clubs and performing of course.

(Lilbo561)What are you most proud of?

(N.B.)
Being able to stay consistent with making good quality music, over a span of about 5 years.

(Lilbo561)What is the most difficult Situation you have had to face and how did you tackle it?

(N.B.)
Being able to find a good manager, I’ve tackled it by becoming my own manager.

(Lilbo561)What are strengths? and What Are your Weakness?

(N.B.)
It depends if we’re talking as an artist or personally, if we’re talking personally, we don’t have enough paper for that! But as an artist, I feel I was blessed to understand the arrangement of a song
and what the beat tells me to write on paper, having the ability to be versatile with music with regards to singing and rapping, and just being able to understand how a song is made. My weakness is being able to rap and sing, because each one of those gifts I’m only putting 50% in it, if you don’t put 100% you don’t get the full effect, but it’s balancing out for me, so far.

(Lilbo561)What do you enjoy about this industry?

(N.B.)
I don’t enjoy anything about the industry, do I love making music? Yes. Do I love my fans? Yes.

(Lilbo561)Was there a person in your career who really made a difference in your life?

(N.B.)
I have my mom and my assistant JB, everyone needs a support system, and with me coming from the streets and the clubs they continued to motivate and encourage me.

(Lilbo561)Give me an example of when you have felt anger? how did you cope and you still perform your work?

(N.B.)
When a club promoter booked me to perform and told me he had a couple of bottles but, ended up not having any, and I ended up buying my own, I got angry and then left, then came back the next night and performed like nothing ever happened.
Ive been dealing with that part of my life and it hasn’t been easy, because I wear my emotions on my sleeves, sometime it can be interpret the wrong way though I mean well. At the end of the day I need people around that understand me and wont provoke me, once I get provoked all gets loosed.

(Lilbo561)Who are your heroes?

(N.B.)
My mom is my hero, its hard being a single mother raising two bad boys.(shout out to all the single mothers)

(Lilbo561)Are you a self starter? Give me and example?

(N.B.)
Yes, I was a born to be a self starter. I’ve never been the one to wait on others to help me out, once I get an idea in my head, I go for it. I had an idea to help promote artist on Twitter so, I started my own Twitter promotions company.

(Lilbo561)How do feel about working long hard hours/ or Weekends

(N.B.)
I haven’t worked a 9-5 in a long time, but if you’re talking music, I do this seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, all day everyday, til I die.

(Lilbo561)What can you bring to the industry?

(N.B.)
I bring a southern swag; a whole lot of versatility, a twist of R&B with a rap edge.
(Lilbo561)How influenced you to Rap?

(N.B.)What influenced me to rap Coming from an R&B background I wanted to stand out and the way to do that was learning how to rap.
Who influenced me to Rap, artist like T.I, Ludacris, and T-Pain
.
