Atlanta rapper star Young Jeezy has been on the scene since the early 2000s, but it wasn't until 2005, when he released his major label debut, Thug Motivation 101, that he officially placed his stamp on hip-hop.
If fans remember, the rapper posed in front of a wall of boxes, each one filled in stacks of dollars, for the album's cover art. Little did people know... that was all real money.
In a recent sit down with Complex, Jeezy recalls doing the photo shoot for the cover, where the art director had filled boxes of fake money to give the effect that he was surrounded by boxes of cash, earned in the streets.
But, Jeezy wasn't having it. Being that it was his introduction to the world, he wanted to make it as authentic as possible... so he had the boxes filled with real money.
"I remember the people from Def Jam, being like, 'What in the hell?' It was crazy," he recalled "But, I wanted it to be that real, because I was like, 'I can't get out here and tell these people thug motivation, and we got fake money in boxes, because now, I'm being like every other rapper.'
