Nearly a week after verbally agreeing to a four-year max deal with the Dallas Mavericks, center DeAndre Jordan has had a change of heart.
Instead, he re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers shortly after midnight on Thursday morning (June 9) at his home in Houston. He received a four-year max deal with the Clippers, worth an estimated $88 million, sources told ESPN, which also allows him to opt out after three years.
Shortly after he news, the Clippers confirmed with a tweet welcoming Jordan back to the team.

According to ESPN.com, it was a team effort to bring back Jordan. Coach Doc Rivers, owner Steve Ballmer, and teammates Chris Paul and Blake Griffin all traveled to Houston to get him back, meeting him at his house. After, several of the Clippers' contingent remained until he was to sign the deal, which Jordan was first able to do at 12:01 a.m. ET Thursday when a leaguewide moratorium was lifted.
Furthermore, sources tell ESPN that Jordan reached out to Griffin and Rivers on Monday (July 6) to say he had changed his mind about joining Dallas, prompting Los Angeles late push.
It's a rare move, being that free agents are traditionally considered off limits once they strike verbal agreements with teams during the NBA's annual moratorium period.
