Iggy Azalea Explains Origin Of Beef With Azealia Banks :::: Video

Iggy Azalea finally decided to address the beef she has with Harlem newcomer Azealia Banks in a recent interview, breaking down its origin.
While in Kansas City, the female spitter sat down with Hot 103 Jamz personality Brooklyn Martino for a chat about music, when she was asked about Banks. After Martino mentioned Iggy's XXL Freshman cover as the start, she took the opportunity to clear the air.
According to Iggy, the issues between her and Banks dates back farther than that. She says it all started during the CMJ Music Festival in 2011, when her rival popped off at the mouth via Twitter.
"It actually started at CMJ Music Festival back in September, when she went on Twitter and said, 'I’m next level, I had a song about being a Barbie before Nicki Minaj had a song about being a Barbie. Here's the link to my song. And f*** Iggy Azalea, I had a song called 'Pussy' before she ever did. Here's a link to my song. It's better,' " said Iggy (see the video below at 8:13).

The comments prompted a response from Iggy, but she says there is no beef.
Banks took it to the next level when Azalea landed the XXL Freshman honor, picking apart her lyrics and accusing her of being racist due to a specific line, where she calls herself a "runaway slave master".
"I wrote on Twitter, 'The best thing you can be is humble, because it's not about who did it first; it's about who did it better'. She wrote back to me and said, 'Beef!' I was like, 'Not really girl. Not really. It's not that deep.' So then after that, she wrote on Twitter, 'F*** white girls. They are privileged and shouldn't be allowed to rap, because rap is black culture' and all this other crap. Then, it was like, 'What does Ignorant Art (Iggy's mixtape title) even mean anyway? Music is not art. Music is culture.' That doesn't even make any sense. Then, it was quiet until I got on the cover of XXL and it became me being racist."

Whatever the issue is now, Iggy says she'll continue to ignore any disses from Banks and keep it moving.
The rapper is currently prepping the release of an EP titled Glory on June 15th, followed by her full-length debut, The New Classic, coming later this year.
