Miami Heat Will Open Upcoming NBA Season Against Boston Celtics :::: NBA News

Celtics versus Heat

The Miami Heat will begin defending their NBA championship title against the Boston Celtics, when they open the upcoming season in late October.
The league announced the open day schedule this week, which will be three games, with the Heat/Celtics leading the day.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Heat will raise their title banner at home on October 30 against the Celtics as part of an opening-night tripleheader, meaning Ray Allen's first game with Miami will come against his former club and in a rematch of last season's seven-game Eastern Conference finals.
Also on opening night, the Washington Wizards will visit the Cleveland Cavailers (technically the season's first game, starting an hour earlier than the Boston-Miami matchup) and the Dallas Mavs plays at the Los Angeles Lakers, Steve Nash's debut as Kobe Bryant's teammate.
"We all know this season is a very important one. We'd like to get back on top as a team," Lakers forward Pau Gasol told the Associated Press this week.
The Nets, who have moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn, will open the year on November 1 at home against the New York Knicks, whose Manhattan home is about six miles north of Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
