NBA 2K has always prided itself in providing its fans with a dope hip-hop soundtrack as they get their game on but now the popular basketball video game is turning things up a notch. In the latest video promo for NBA 2K13, 2K Sports announces that Jay-Z will be serving as the executive producer for the game which hits shelves on October 2. The twenty-four second clip doesn’t give much detail but it’s safe to assume that Jay-Z will be picking out and supplying songs for NBA 2K13.
Jay-Z is a self confessed fan of NBA basketball and it doesn’t hurt that he is part owner of the Brooklyn Nets and a good pal of Miami Heat superstar Lebron James. Earlier this month, Lebron James revealed to MTV that Jay-Z shared some of the new music he has been working on. “Anytime I’m around Jay, he always plays me some new stuff,” said James. “You know Jay, he’s really passionate about his music and when he’s ready to let the world hear it, he’ll let you guys hear it.”
