BET Bans Rick Ross' Music Video For 'Hold Me Back' :::: Hip Hop News

Rick Ross

BET has reportedly banned the music video for Rick Ross' latest single, "Hold Me Back," off his upcoming solo project, God Forgives, I Don't.
Rozay had enlisted director TAJ to shoot the gritty black-n-white, which they released a short preview for recently. MMG was to follow with the full release late last week, but it never came. Apparently, BET's ban held things up.

TAJ took to Twitter Monday (July 23) to reveal the news, while blasting the network for its decision.
"So BET rejected Ross' 'Hold Me Back' video. It's incredibly sad, because the video is incredibly special & real," he wrote (@TAJ_TPK). "You're killing US BET. Smh. Everybody ask BET why it's ok for them to play 'Boyz N the Hood', 'Menace to Society', and 'South Central', but not Ross' video. What does BET stand for? You should have two answers for that question."
It was unclear what segment of the visual is preventing it from getting airtime on BET, as of press time.
Rozay's video isn't the first to get banned from the Viacom-owned cable network. Both Nicki Minaj's "Stupid Hoe" and Ciara's "Ride" have been barred from getting aired on the network in the past.
