Volkswagen Commemorates Scirocco 30th Anniversary With GTS Model

In commemoration of the model's 30th anniversary, German automaker Volkswagen recently revealed their special edition Scirocco GTS.
According to AutoBlog.com, the modernized Scirocco will be unveiled at the Auto Mobil International show in Leipzig, Germany this week. It sports the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (with 210 horsepower) as previous model, and accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 148mph.

As seen in the photos, it also sports a set of red-bordered, dual black racing stripes that run from hood to tailgate, tweaked front and rear bumpers, flared side skirts, body-tinted side moldings, flashy 5-spoked 18-inch "Thunder" alloy wheels, and a rear diffuser and roof spoiler borrowed from the more powerful Scirocco R.
Red accents are added to finish the wing mirrors and brake calipers, and continue into the cabin with contrast red stitching across the black leather and plastic. Inside, there's also the golf ball shift knob on the six-speed manual gearbox.
Details about a retail pricetag and release date were unknown at press time.
