Russell Westbrook Agrees to $85M Deal With OKC Thunder :::: #NBA

Although Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City, it looks as though the Thunder's other star, Russell Westbrook, will be staying.
According to ESPN, Russ and the Thunder have reached an agreement, in principle, on a new contract, potentially worth $85.7 million over the next three seasons. The deal also includes a player option that would allow Westbrook to become a free agent after the 2017-18 season.
Westbrook has played all eight seasons of his career in OKC, and is expected to sign the new deal on Thursday (Aug. 4).
Following Durant's departure, the Thunder made it a priority to get a long-term deal done with Westbrook.
Last season, Westbrook put up historic numbers by tying Magic Johnson for the most triple-doubles in the past 50 years with a league-high 18, including six in the month of March. He also averaged 23.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.4 assists, while finishing fourth in the MVP voting.
