Former NFL QB Todd Marinovich Arrested After Being Found Naked :::: #Sports

Former NFL quarterback Todd Marinovich was arrested Friday night (Aug. 19) in Irvine, Calif., after he was found naked in someone's backyard.

According to the Orange County Register, police received a complaint call at around 9 p.m. (local time) about someone in the area without any clothes on. When they arrived, they found the 47-year-old completely nude.

Police also found a brown bag containing meth, marijuana, and his I.D. card.

He was cited for trespassing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

The incident is just the latest in a long list of arrests and drug problems that has plagued Marinovich since his playing days.

Marinovich rose to fame in 1988, after Sports Illustrated profiled a then-high school star, in a piece titled "Bred to be a Superstar", which  painted the picture of the "perfect quarterback", who trained his entire life to be a football star under his father's eye.

The hard work would eventually pay off, when he attended USC, but the pressure proved too much for Marinovich, who could not adapt to the personal freedom he had in college... something he's never had prior. While he excelled in his final year with the Trojans, his off field troubles started to surface, when he was arrested for cocaine possession shortly before entering the NFL Draft.

Despite the potential red flags, the Raiders took him with the 24th overall pick in the 1991 Draft, and after just two seasons with the Raiders, substance abuse problems took over his life... and he never got another shot in the NFL.
