Before any new sneaker design is put into production, prototypes and samples are made, and usually, those samples never see the light of day. Sometimes, some pop up online.
Sneaker consignment store Rare Pair recently put up a promo sample of the first Nike Air Yeezy 1 "Black Glow" for auction on eBay. This specific shoe is not only the first ever Yeezy to be produced, but was also Kanye's personal 1 of 1 pair from 2008 in a size US 12.
"You are looking at a 100% Authentic, Extremely Rare Pair of the Nike Air Yeezy 1 Promo Sample 'BLACK GLOW'. These were the first Sample Air Yeezy’s ever made. They were Kanye’s Personal 1 of 1 pair, which never released," reads the description. "These are currently the Rarest Yeezy's known to man."
