Twitter Allowing Longer Tweets on Sept. 19 :::: #Tech

After more than 10 years with a 140-character limit, Twitter will finally allow users to express themselves even further, beginning next week.

The social media platform announced this week that it will no longer count extras such as photos, videos, user polls, or quoted tweets toward the limit, reports The Verge. In turn, users will have more flexibility in composing their messages.

Another new adjustment will be that usernames will no longer count when used at the beginning of replies, giving users additional room for discussion.

The new charges will begin to roll out Sept. 19, though it's unclear if all of these changes will occur simultaneously.
