Die Antwoord Says They’re Disbanding :::: #Music

Die Antwoord will drop their new album, Mount Ninji and Da Nice Time Kid, later this month. And, if what they say is true, it may be their last together.

In an interview with Exclaim!, group member Ninja revealed that he and Yolandi will officially disband a year from now... in September 2017.

"Die Antwoord dies on that day," he said. "It’s all over. I feel beautiful about it. I’m not scared of the end. I’m a Ninja. I’m not scared of death."

Things will not end with the pair fading to black, though. Die Antwoord plans to go out a huge art project at the MOCAA (Museum of Contemporary Modern Art Africa) in Cape Town, South Africa, followed by a movie that serves as a retrospective look at their career.

"There's this movie we're making called South African Ninja, that we've been working on forever -- literally like ten years -- and we've just been finishing it off now," Ninja explains.

"It's a South African gangster film that has African ninjas in it," he continued. "Everything in the film is fictitious, like a regular movie, but it's hard and raw, and everything has some parallel to our lives, so it's got a surreal connection to everything."

It's unclear if any other new music will follow their Mount Ninji and Da Nice Time Kid album, which drops on Sept. 16.

Additionally, Die Antwoord dropped a new DJ Muggs-produced cut off the album, titled "Fat Faded F*ck Face". Stream it below.
