Bobby Shmurda Cops Plea, Gets 7 Years in Prison :::: #Music

Nearly two years after being arrested on a number of charges, including murder, it appears Bobby Shmurda has copped a plea in the case.

According to TMZ, the 22-year-old rapper (born Ackquille Jean Pollard) has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon. Other charges he faced were dismissed, and in exchange, he'll get seven years in prison and five years probation.

Shmurda originally faced charges ranging from conspiracy to commit murder to several weapons and drug charges associated with gangs.

The rapper's lawyer said Friday (Sept. 9) that he was encouraged to take the plea deal, because he believed they wouldn't get a sympathetic jury and were facing life in prison. He was one of 15 other defendants, which included his GS9 crew, who were also standing trial on crimes ranging from murder to drug dealing.

Shmurda has been behind bars for 20 months so far, and will reportedly be credited for his time.
