As previously reported, the new iPhone 7 will start at 32GB of storage, double the amount of the base model iPhone 6S and iPhone 6. From there, the step up is 128GB, followed by 256GB -- the highest storage for an iPhone to date.
Another highlight is that the new smartphone will be water and dust-resistant.
Other new features include:
Longer battery life: Apple says the iPhone 7 will last two hours longer than the 6, and the 7 Plus will last one hour more than the 6 Plus.
New camera: It now has optical image stabilisation, a six-element lens with f/1.8 aperture, 60% faster than previous iPhones. Finally, the iPhone 7 has a single lens camera, while the 7 Plus has a dual lens camera (wide angle and telephoto).
No headphone jack: Headphones will now connect via the Lightning port. It comes with free set, as well as an adaptor for traditional 3.5mm jack headphones.
AirPods: Apple introduced AirPods, wireless headphones with infrared sensors that detect when they're in your ear. A W1 chip connects the AirPods to your other Apple devices, and the batteries last for 5 hours. They also come with a charging case that holds 24 hours of charge.
Orders for the Apple iPhone 7 begin Sept. 9, with shipping on Sept. 16. The base model 32GB starts at $649 USD.
