Troy Ave Sues Over Irving Plaza Shooting :::: #Music

In wake of the Irving Plaza shooting in May, Troy Ave is suing the venue and its promoter Live Nation, claiming they didn't provide adequate security for the T.I. concert.

The rapper (real name: Roland Collins) made the announcement during a press conference in front of the Union Square performance venue, alongside his lawyers Monday afternoon (Aug. 8), reports the New York Daily News. "He is the victim here. He did not bring a gun into this place. And we are seeking redress for the negligence," said Scott Leemon, one of Collins' lawyers.

Troy Ave is facing charges of attempted murder and gun possession in the shooting, and is currently free on bond.

The shooting left his bodyguard dead and him shot in the leg. However, surveillance video surfaced days after, showing Troy Ave storming out of a green room area wielding and firing a gun.

A gun found inside of the van that took him to the hospital reportedly matched ballistics tests to the weapon that killed his bodyguard, known as Banga.
