The phenomenon that is Pokémon Go has broken Apple's App Store record, with the most downloads ever in its first week of release, reports Tech Crunch.
The viral app game was only available in a few countries at the time, launching in New Zealand, Australia and the U.S., but still, was an instant hit.
Apple, however, has not provided hard numbers on the download mark it reached.
As of press time, Pokémon Go sits at No. 1 on the Top Grossing Apps chart in the App Store (as well as Free chart), ahead of Mobile Strike at No. 2 and Game of War - Fire Ageat No. 3.
