Kevin Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors earlier this month, leaving the only NBA team he's called home... and his longtime teammate Russell Westbrook.
During his first press conference, KD admitted that the move likely shattered the relationship he's built with Russ over the years.
"I'm sure he wasn't happy about the decision, but he respected it as a friend," Durant told reporters. "The relationship was great... but like I said, I wanted a new chapter in my life."
In an interview with Sina, KD discussed the state of the pair's relationship. "I just told [Westbrook], I let him know how I felt," he said. "And you obviously, our relationship probably won't ever be the same again, but it's something I wanted to do and I expressed that to him. Hopefully, he respected it."
For Westbrook, he now has a decision to make. Stick it out with the OKC Thunder, after losing such a huge piece of the team, or take his talents somewhere else?
