DJ Mustard's new collaboration with Jeremih and Nicki Minaj hit the Internet this week, and hours after its release, Nicki said she wished she could of added a LeBron James punchline.
While "Don't Hurt Me" just dropped on Wednesday (June 15), it was actually recorded several months ago... and Nicki didn't get a chance to reference the current the NBA Finals in her verse.
She took to Twitter to rectify this oversight, tweeting out a punchline that referenced Golden State forward Draymond Green's controversial groin tap of LeBron in Game 4 of the series, which led to a one-game suspension for Green.
I'm mad I missed out on dude slapping bron in the nuts. Would've made for a great line but #DontHurtMe was done over a month ago
Nicki went on to clear up a line on the song that puzzled many listeners. "Added my rings up, that's Mike Jordan," she spits. According to Nicki, she was comparing her six consecutive Best Female Hip-Hop Artist wins at the BET Awards with Jordan's six NBA titles.
