Lil Wayne is the latest rapper to jump into the app game, as he preps the release of a new mobile skateboarding game called Lil Wayne: Sqvad Up.
Developed with mobile media company UTILITY, the app is designed to be "simple, fun and addictive for all audiences", while boasting a "throwback arcade-style" feel, as Weezy himself offers users a chance to join him on a tour of his hometown, New Orleans.
The app/game also features a soundtrack was curated by Lil Wayne and produced by Hollygrove-based producer Nesby Phips.

"I’m super excited to drop my first mobile skateboarding game Lil Wayne: Sqvad Up as a way to share my passion for skateboarding," said Weezy. "It’s also special to celebrate all that makes my home of Hollygrove and New Orleans such a dope place."
"I started skateboarding at 29, not just because I thought it looked cool, but also because I wanted to be able to inspire kids to get outside and play," he added. "Skating is a perfect way for kids today to stay out of trouble and be positive and active."
Sqvad Up will drop June 10 through the App Store and Google Play. Lil Wayne will also tease the game at Samsung's booth at E3 in Los Angeles this month.
