thony Towns has been voted the NBA's 2016 Rookie of the Year, reports
The announcement has not yet been made, but the NBA is scheduled to announce the winner Monday.
Towns was the No. 1 overall pick last summer. He averaged 18.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in all 82 games in the regular season. He also helped the Timberwolves win 13 more games than they did the previous season.

Towns is the second straight Timberwolves player to win the rookie of the year award, after teammate Andrew Wiggins earned the honor last year.
Both are joined by a promising supporting cast that includes Zach LaVine, Ricky Rubio, Gorgui Dieng and Shabazz Muhammad... who could help the franchise turn things around after a 12-season playoff drought.
