2Mex Update: Rapper Recovering After Having Leg Amputated :::: #Music

Late last month, underground rap veteran 2
Mex was hospitalized, stemming from complications from diabetes. Now, we have a update on his condition.
According to L.A. Weekly, the rapper (real name: Alejandro Ocana) has spent the last two weeks in the a San Bernardino hospital, recovering from a near-fatal bout of diabetes.
While doctors say that it's a miracle that he's alive, they couldn't save his leg, which had to be amputated just below the knee.

"I'm gonna come back from this. This sh*t is crazy", 2Mex tells the paper.
"I've got a crazy headache and leg pain, but I've already been doing light physical therapy," he continued. "I'll survive it. It's gotten much better."
In late April, 2Mex, 43, woke up with crippling pain and a severly swollen foot. He took some medicine to no avail, until his condition became serious... and he was rushed him to the hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery.
When he checked into St. Bernardine Hospital, the rapper had no health insurance. So, when news broke, support flooded social media... and within days, a GoFundMe campaign raised more than $30,000. Friends and family hope to raise $120,000 to cover 2Mex's medical costs for the next few years -- including hospital care, physical therapy and a prosthetic limb, which can run from $7,000 to $40,000.
You can donate yourself, over at GoFundMe.
2Mex has been a respected figure on the underground rap scene for more than two decades. He's the co-founder of The Visionaries, and last released an album on Sage Francis' Strange Famous imprint.
