Miesha Tate to Defend Title at UFC 200 Against Amanda Nunes :::: #Sports

UFC Women's Bantamweight cha
mp Miesha Tate will return to the Octagon at UFC 200 on July 9 to defend her title against... Amanda Nunes.
The champ made the announcement Wednesday night (April 6) on UFC Tonight, saying that Nunes earned the shot after defeating Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 196, the same night Tate submitted Holly Holm.

Tate, like Holm before her, doesn't want to wait until Ronda Rousey is ready to return... which won't be around November or December. "Ronda is out until November or December," Tate said on the show. "Holly, it was her first defense, she wasn't successful. It's not like she was a long-reigning champion, and I finished that fight. So I think the most dangerous woman is Amanda Nunes."
Holm's longtime manager Lenny Fresquez responded on Thursday (April 7), saying that Tate made the decision and chose the "weaker opponent."
"They tell me Tate chose [Nunes]," Fresquez said, in an interview with the Albuquerque Journal. "Holly was offered to her and she chose Nunes. She chose to take a weaker opponent... She's not as stand-up as Holly. She said she'd take on the best, but she's not willing to take on the best. Holly gave her a chance. We're pretty disappointed she didn't return the favor."
He also went on to say that Holm has turned down a fight against Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino in what would be her much-anticipated UFC debut. "We were not interested in that right now. [Holm] just wants to fight Miesha."
Instead, Holm wil likely have to wait in line behind Nunes and likely Rousey.
