Kanye West’s Album, “The Life of Pablo”, Debuts Atop Billboard 200 :::: #Music

Despite no wide release, Kanye West's The Life of Pablo finally debuts on the Billboard 200 albums chart... at No. 1.
It marks Kanye's seventh No. 1 album, topping the the chart this week with 94,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music. And, of that, 28,000 were in pure album sales and the rest is the streaming equivalent albums, according to Billboard.
The Billboard 200 chart currently ranks albums, based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each SEA unit is equal to 1,500 streams from an album.

With that said, Pablo is the first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 where the majority (70 percent) of its units were generated by streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The 66,000 SEA units record comes out to over 99 million U.S. streams.
Before the numbers became official, Kanye took to Twitter to celebrate.
