With the 2016 Masters Golf Tournament u
nderway in Augusta, GA, longtime sponsor IBM has launched a new and improved app to offer an updated digital experience for fans.
The new Masters App features a range of new features this year, including smart watch compatibility; real-time "Track" to follow shot distance and ball positioning on all your devices; a virtual reality experience for Android; universal favoriting to follow your favorite player on the course; and finally, an enhanced live stream video.
Below is a breakdown of each:

Wearables: The Masters experience is now available for wearables. There's now apps for both the Apple Watch and Android Wear, both featuring a tournament leader board, player details and other real-time tournament data.
Track: Available for the first time on the iPhone and other mobile devices, the Track feature delivers a new level of engagement and insights to fans of the Masters, such as a vibrant, real-time view of every shot for every player on each hole of the course. An enhanced version for iPad and desktop systems includes picture-in-picture to watch live and player comparison features as well.
Personalized experience: Each fan can now use the new "universal favoriting" (available on wearable, mobile and desktop platforms) that enables the ability to personalize your Masters experience by tagging players favorite(s) they want to follow during the tournament.
4K Video: The Masters is now the first in sports to deliver a publicly available 4K video broadcast, taking the Masters experience to new heights.
Furthermore, Masters.com will feature enhanced video coverage. From 9:30 am EDT, you can see the coverage from the first tee shot to the final putt each day online. Also, the Watson Social Media Command Center will harness the power of IBM Watson's cognitive capabilities, so officials will dynamically tap into meaningful insights and trends from social conversations.
The 2016 Masters is underway. Experience is at Masters.com, or download the official Masters App now in the App Store.
