Although a number of bookstores have gone out of business, thanks tot he advent of Amazon.com, the online retail giant seems to still believe in it.
Large mall CEO Sandeep Mathrani revealed the news in an interview with Dow Jones, saying Amazon is the planning to open around 300-400 brick-and-mortar bookstores... though its unclear when.
In November, Amazon opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Seattle, which it described as a "physical extension of Amazon.com". Its selection is chosen based on Amazon.com's customer ratings and sales.
The company has also promised that books sold at brick-and-motars will not differ from its online price tag.
Amazon hasn't commented on the news.
