Following the massive success of Furious 7, it appears the show will go on... for three more films.
Star Vin Diesel took to Facebook on Sunday (Sept. 27) to announce that theFast & Furious franchise will produce a final trilogy of films.
"Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision ... they have been like family ... I promised the studio I would deliver one last trilogy to end the saga," he wrote.
The news comes amid reports that the upcoming Furious 8, which was slated for April 14, 2017, has been derailed because it has yet to find a director.
"My producing partner Neal [Moritz] would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled," Diesel wrote. "To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet ... let alone seen a script."
