After being arrested and sued in June, for an alleged kidnapping and assault, Rick Ross has counter-sued, calling the claims bogus... and asks that the suit be dropped.
The rap mogul (real name: William Roberts) filed legal documents this week against Jonathan Zamudio, a groundskeepers at his ATL home who claims he was locked him in a room and pistol-whipped by Ross. He says he sustained injuries so bad he had to eat through a straw.
"At its core, these trumped up allegations lack credible evidence and are an attempt at extorting money from Mr. Roberts -- from the 911 call that doesn't mention an assault or injuries, to the notion that Mr. Roberts kidnapped his accusers, when they were in fact trespassing on his property without permission," Ross' attorney Leron Rogers said in a statement.
"The mere association between Mr. Roberts' accusers and Mr. Curtis Jackson, speaks volumes to their lack of credibility and the likelihood of collusion," he continued. "Mr. Roberts' reputation has been defamed and his businesses compromised. We will vigorously dispute all of Mr. Zamudio's and Mr. Caceres' claims, and aggressively pursue the substantial damages Mr. Roberts has incurred stemming from these false claims by the plaintiffs."
In the docs, Ross points out that Zamudio called 911 three hours after the alleged incident and never mentioned any assault, and spoke both clearly and calmly to the dispatcher.
Ross was arrested and jailed in connection with the incident, and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
The case is currently pending and Ross is free on $2 million bond.
